During a livestream, Blizzard shared the must-have PC specs with fans for the Diablo 4 open beta. It's important to keep in mind, the requirements shared by Blizzard are for the open beta specifically, so these details might change once Diablo 4 comes out in its entirety.

Diablo 4 was announced back in 2019 during Blizzcon, and had a rocky road during its development. The team lost key members such as game director Luis Barriga and game designer Jesse McCree after the sexual misconduct lawsuit began in 2021. After them followed interim co-lead Jen Oneal, at which point Blizzard announced Diablo 4 would not come out in 2022. Currently, the open beta is set to start on March 17 for those who preordered, while full release is expected on June 6. The game will have its classic elements, such as procedurally generated dungeons, but will also bring in new features like an open world and PVP interactions.

It's also worth noting that while Blizzard shared the minimum requirements, the devs said Diablo 4 will attempt to run on hardware below the minimum, but the game experience will inevitably suffer from it. Players who haven't preordered the game will also be able to take part in the open beta, however, it'll have a shorter window between March 24 to 26. The beta will see the players through from the very beginning to the end of Act 1, and everyone will be able to reach level 25. Fans will be able to explore the Fractured Peaks zone completely during the Diablo 4 beta and gain exclusive rewards, but only if they reach specific milestones. These rewards, which include a backpack with a slumbering puppy in it, and titles will carry over to the full game.

Despite all the controversies that surround Blizzard, not to mention the ongoing saga of Microsoft attempting to purchase Activision, it seems fans are very excited to finally be able to enter the world and take their first steps in the open beta environment. Considering the fact Blizzard has shared developer updates throughout the development of Diablo 4, fans have been left in the dark with regard to plenty of details. Not a lot has been shared when it comes to the PVP aspect and there were fans who have criticized Blizzard for focusing its conversations around the products players can buy, such as the battle pass or the collector's edition.

There's a lot of anticipation surrounding the open beta of Diablo 4, since it'll give players a better insight into what they can expect from the full game. More importantly, it'll be a good indication of whether the game will sink or swim.
