Blizzard has announced that Diablo 4 has gone gold. Since countless fans had the opportunity to try out the game during the open beta, no doubt many of them have been waiting for the good news, and it seems they will be even less patient until they can continue playing Diablo 4.The term "going gold" means that the game has received the "gold" approval from companies like Microsoft or Sony, so they have approved the game to be published on their platforms. This signals the end of the main development and, traditionally, the start of the manufacturing stage. This process is now digital, but companies used to send the master copy of their games on a gold-colored disc. This doesn't mean, however, that the developer can't make further small adjustments to polish the game even more. When it comes to Diablo 4, this likely comes as great news to fans. When Blizzard released statistics after the open beta, it showed fans played Diablo 4 for over 61 million hours. While it's not known how many players it took to get to that high a number, what information is available shows that at least 2.6 million characters reached level 20.RELATED: Diablo 4 Has Good News for Xbox GamersThe announcement came over Twitter and amassed over 4,000 likes, but this number is still going. The release date was also reiterated in the simple, but to-the-point message. Many fans but also retailer accounts cheered as well for the news. At the same time, while gamers were happy to hear about this development, many expressed frustration at the thought of having to wait for a game that is now finished. The wait currently sits at a nice round number, fit for the announcement. Fans will be able to get their hands on Diablo 4 in 50 days.

Since the open beta has finished, Blizzard took its time to fix some of the issues or inconveniences of Diablo 4 that were reported by players. As expected, class balance and some bosses have been adjusted, as well as adding more dungeon events and reducing pointless backtracking between dungeons among other things. While the main issues have likely been fixed, while some fans now begged Blizzard for an earlier release, there likely are many more small things to improve until the release date comes around.

A finished Diablo 4 is great news for fans all over the world. Now all they have to do is be patient and in a month and a half's time they can return to Sanctuary to battle against Lilith and her forces of evil.

Diablo 4 will release on June 6 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
