A contest rewarding Diablo 4 early access beta codes starts on Twitter, as Blizzard asks fans to offer up prayers to the demon Lilith. On Friday, March 17, the first of two betas leading up to Diablo 4's June launch will begin. This first beta isn't open, however. It's limited to pre-purchasers, certain KFC customers, and contest winners. To help a few more Diablo fans find their way into the beta, and to have a bit of thematic fun, Blizzard's prayers for Lilith contest is ongoing on Twitter.Diablo 4's early access beta officially begins Friday, March 17 at 9:00 AM PDT/Noon EDT and will last through the weekend, ending March 20 at 12:00 PM PDT/3:00 AM EDT. It's still possible to get a code for the beta through certain means, but others are less certain. For example, pre-purchasing Diablo 4 on PC through Battle.net guarantees instant access to the beta. Pre-ordering Diablo 4 for console on Amazon is unlikely to help, as codes have already been sent out. Visiting KFC and purchasing a Double Down may still work, though, but ask the cashier if Diablo 4 codes are still available first.One new alternative for Diablo fans hoping to earn an early access Diablo 4 beta code is to offer a prayer to Lilith. A Twitter post from Blizzard asks users to "Pray to Lilith for mercy and She may grace you with a #DiabloIV Open Beta Early Access code." More specifically, Twitter users can respond to the post with a poem or prayer to Diablo 4 antagonist Lilith.
A Diablo 4 early access beta code is not guaranteed to all who pray, unfortunately. Blizzard clarifies that recipients will be chosen based on "creativity, passion, humorousness, and/or uniqueness." If chosen, winners will be sent a direct message on Twitter with the code attached. In total, Blizzard is only giving away 10 total beta codes. That's not a lot, but it's better than nothing.
Since Blizzard is not actually giving out many codes, the contest can probably be looked at in a different light. It's a fun opportunity to do something thematically appropriate to celebrate Diablo 4's beta launch. It also has the opportunity to be a little controversial, at least in some circles. Offering prayers up to a demon queen is frowned upon by some.
Whether players get their codes through prayers to Lilith, by doubling down on a KFC Double Down, or by buying the game early, Diablo 4's early access beta is nearly here. It'll open up all of Diablo 4's first act, three playable classes, and even World Events with massive monsters to battle. The wait for Diablo 4 is coming to a conclusion.
