One of Capcom's most anticipated releases is currently Street Fighter 6, with plenty of marketing and attention being placed on it. While it was revealed with a teaser back in February, the trailer showcased at the PlayStation State of Play in June was enough to get fans hyped for this latest entry. Early impressions of Street Fighter 6 have given the game a positive image, with many enticed with the latest additions and improvements such as the implementation of cross-play and rollback netcode.

Street Fighter 6's roster has also been praised, with returning characters like Ryu, Chun-Li, and Guile all having new looks that fit the big timeskip post-Street Fighter 3. Not only that, Street Fighter 6 newcomers like Kimberly were praised for their unique style, music, and gameplay, giving the game a big unifying theme of being an urban street fighter. The influences in this more grounded Street Fighter game were discussed by the developers in a recent interview, highlighting how hip-hop in particular was a key component of Street Fighter 6.

In an interview with media website SPIN, producer Shuhei Matsumoto and lead composer Yoshiya Terayama discussed what fans can expect and how hip-hop culture influenced the game. Terayama in particular notes that the music of Street Fighter 6 is designed to be unique and represent a new generation for the series, while also respecting and blending the styles of hip-hop with various musical elements of the franchise's music.

Matsumoto notes the variety of ways that Street Fighter 6 shows its hip-hop influences, mentioning that elements of rap, DJ sounds, graffiti, and dancing are all a part of the game in some way. He notes that past entries such as the original Street Fighter and Street Fighter 3 also had these elements, with Street Fighter 6 being the culmination. Terayama plainly states that the goal with the soundtrack is to create music that fans can all jam out to as well.

Terayama also notes that the country and culture of each character was taken into consideration when composing their theme songs, with instrument selection being fine-tuned in order to properly represent the character. They also touch upon some other aspects of the upcoming fighting game, such as Street Fighter 6's World Tour single-player mode. Terayama states that since players are walking through Metro City, there are some elements that fans of Capcom's franchise Final Fight might recognize. The two state that all of these elements help flesh out a more urban Street Fighter that can be enjoyed by a lot of fans.
