However, fans usually don't stop and think about who Mario actually is as a person. Luckily, Mario games provide just enough information for players to get an idea of what his personality is.

10 Persistent

To say that Mario is a persistent individual is an understatement. In games such as the Super Mario Bros. games, he does not stop until he saves Princess Peach. There is no limit for Mario when it comes to achieving his goal. He goes beyond his limits of fighting monsters, facing Bowser, traveling in unrealistic conditions, and more. The amount of persistence Mario possesses is unmatched. Peach is lucky that she has Mario coming to rescue her because anyone else would give up.

9 Strong

Games like the Super Smash Bros. series prove that Mario is very strong. He can literally take on Legend Of Zelda characters and make it out alive if players are good enough. Plus, this is just one out of endless examples of Mario's strength. He can jump off of walls, climb ropes, run up mountains, and walk sideways on walls. Also, players are certainly aware of how high this guy can jump. It's not even like Mario has extraordinary superpowers on his own. He's just a crazy strong plumber who defeats monstrous opponents.

8 Skillful

Players might be asking themselves how one person can possess so many skills? In games like the Mario Party series, players witness him handling so much at once. He can collect stars on different levels and play minigames that anyone would instantly die from in real life. Fans might argue that all of the characters also accomplish these tasks. However, they are forgetting about how many other adventures he is also a part of in the other Mario games. Put it this way; Peach would not even be in the Mario Party series if Mario didn't save her, right?

7 Optimistic

For someone facing the amount of kerfuffle that Mario faces, he sure is optimistic. He continues to trek along without feeling any sense of doubt. Even when things don't go his way, the most Mario does is yell "Oh no!" or "Ugh." Players all admit that if they had to deal with the losses that Mario does, they would have more negative responses. Plus, Mario is happy when he performs the simplest actions such as bouncing off of mushrooms. Even in New Super Mario Bros. Wii, he says "Here we go again!" after dying about 20 times.

6 Brave

Let's just say that if players had to enter a world with monsters and pitfalls, they would likely say no. Not Mario! His bravery allows him to fulfill numerous missions. Players witness in games like Super Mario Galaxy that he travels to the end of the earth.

He wants to save Princess Peach as well as the entire galaxy, and nothing is stopping him. Also, Mario makes being brave look quite easy considering he never hesitates in the face of fear.

5 Impulsive

One of Mario's major personality traits is that he's impulsive. This benefits him as well as hurts him depending on the circumstances. In games like Mario Kart, players witness him throwing out items left and right. Sometimes they work, and other times they cause him to fall off an edge or slow down. Also, in games like the Super Smash Bros. series, he attacks quickly. Granted, Mario is a character who does not have far-reaching attacks, but he doesn't think sometimes.

4 Kind

Among the aggressiveness that players see in Mario, he is a kind soul overall. He does what he has to do without any malicious intentions. Plus, he cares about Peach so much in many games that he does whatever he can for her. Even in the Super Mario Bros. games, he takes his hat off and bows to Peach at the end. What a gentleman.

Also, there are many circumstances where Mario goes out of his way to save Toad. Fans might agree that Toad is pretty annoying sometimes and almost deserves to be left behind, but Mario is usually there for him.

3 Morally-Conscious

A rather profound quality that Mario possesses is that he has strong morals. Players can see that all he wants is justice and Peach overall. Mario never wants to let evil prevail and he does whatever he can to prevent it. His consistency regarding morals throughout the Mario games never fails to impress players. Mario knows what he has to do in order to achieve justice no matter where he is.

2 Romantic

The overall goal in numerous Mario games is to save Princess Peach. Therefore, it is no secret that Mario has a thing for her and is quite romantic. In games like Super Mario Odyssey, he rushes past multiple kingdoms to stop Bowser from marrying her. How cute, right? Peach can definitely step it up a little and stand up for herself, but Mario is always there rescuing her. Players can certainly assume that aside from rescuing Peach, he is likely the best partner ever.

1 Fair-Player

There is something to say about those who play fair, and Mario is surely one of them. Mario demonstrates fair play throughout all of the games. He does not need to do what Bowser does with his disguises and trickery. He knows that all he has to do is stomp on some goombas and get to Peach. Since players are the ones controlling him, they know first hand that he has nothing up his sleeve. Mario always wins and defeats enemies fair and square.
