Bungie has been making major adjustments to Trials of Osiris in Destiny 2 to entice more players to engage in the mode. Guardians who are looking to try out these changes and work their way to the Lighthouse this weekend might be a bit disappointed, however. Trials of Osiris will be taking a week off, so Destiny 2 players will have to patiently await its return in October.

Iron Banner was brought back into the game on September 28, which means it is taking over as the main PvP activity for a short while. To avoid overwhelming players and splitting the population, Bungie is suspending Trials of Osiris during this time. Iron Banner will retire once more on October 5, after which Trials will be available again the following weekend.

During its hiatus, Bungie will continue working on many of the planned Trials of Osiris changes. The PvP mode has never been everyone's cup of tea, but Bungie is looking to change that by making alterations to broaden its appeal. Three weeks ago, Bungie launched its first reworked version of Trials, which ended up being very successful, mostly due to changes to the reward system.

The second week wasn't quite as well-received. This was largely due to a controversial change to Trials of Osiris matchmaking. This change was for players who reached Flawless for the first time in the mode. After achieving this difficult task, they will then be matched with other Flawless players in the future. Veterans of the mode who are highly skilled don't have as much of an issue with this but those who got Flawless for the first time may not find their games so evenly matched going forward.

The Destiny 2 weekly reset is live as of September 28, and this week was a big one in terms of story. For weeks, Guardians have been working with Mara Sov, who has an uneasy alliance with the Witch Queen. This week, Savathun revealed the truth to Crow about his past. This was likely a ploy from the Queen of Lies to mess with Mara's brother and possibly compromise an ally.

While Crow seems to take the news well, the repercussions of this revelation have yet to be seen. There are plenty who are holding out hope that he doesn't return to his villainous ways, as he has become a beloved character. Next week, along with the possibility players will see how Crow responds to this revelation, Trials of Osiris will be back, kicking off on Friday with newly implemented changes.

Destiny 2 is now available PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
