Video game fan art can be a lot of fun, but it's even better when artists put a creative spin on their work to make it stand out. An interesting way to do this is through a crossover, which is exactly what one artist did when they mashed together Destiny and Genshin Impact. In two pieces of art, two well-known Awoken were reimagined as gacha characters for the action role-playing title.

Genshin Impact has a very specific art style when introducing new characters, which shows both their element and rarity. Twitter user and artist mingway (@itsmingway) kept this in mind when integrating the characters from Destiny 2, which they later posted to Twitter. One with shows Queen of the Reef, Mara Sov, as a five-star rarity Electro user. The second is Mara's right-hand lady Petra Venj as a four-star Cryo user. Since Cryo deals with freezing and slowing enemies, it is GenshinImpact's equivalent to Destiny 2's Stasis powers.

Both Mara Sov and Petra Venj are important characters in Destiny 2 at the moment. They are integral in the game's 15th season, Season of the Lost. Shortly after bringing the Endless Night to a close, The Awoken Queen Mara Sov has returned after a long absence. She is helping Guardians figure out how best to deal with Savathun and is aiding them in understanding the motives of the Witch Queen, although the Hive god is most definitely manipulating both parties.

One of the ways she's giving Guardians a leg up is by guiding them on their quest to obtain the Ager's Scepter Exotic trace rifle. This is the game's latest exotic weapon and the final quest steps towards adding it to the arsenal were released this week. Ager's Scepter has deep ties to both Mara and her sibling, Uldren Sov, also known as Crow, and the lore behind it was a large part of the quest chain. Now, players can freely use the Stasis trace rifle in their Kinetic slots.

Everything in Season of the Lost is leading up to the game's next expansion, The Witch Queen. Aptly named because it will mark the pivotal moment when players finally face off against long-time nemesis Savathun. However, she isn't going to be easy to take down.

Savathun has discovered a way to use the Light to her advantage, resulting in one of the greatest threats to humanity yet, Hive Guardians. Wielding similar powers to Guardians, these new enemies are going to present a major challenge and Bungie wants players to feel terror in The Witch Queen. Since mingway is using key characters from this season for their crossover artwork, perhaps they'll do the same with the important players in the expansion, whoever they might be.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
