Without a doubt, Destiny 2 fans are eagerly anticipating the arrival of the science fiction shooter sequel's next major expansion, Forsaken, as the DLC is set to bring a bevy of fresh content into the action-RPG. While many Guardians are simply biding their time by playing all of the content the latest title in the franchise offers thus far, one group of incredibly dedicated role-players have decided to take it upon themselves to convert the game into a Dungeons & Dragons campaign.

Calling the Destiny-themed project D&Destiny, the enterprise aims to offer this as a completely free guide for anyone who would want to experience an actual tabletop role-playing game in the world of Destiny. According to the creators, it's based on Dungeons & Dragons 5E, which happens to be the most recent version of the renowned RPG, and it is designed and structured to provide a rule-set that will let players run their own D&D campaign inspired by the sci-fi shooter world crafted by Bungie.

Although there are surely plenty of Guardians looking forward to checking out all of the content that D&Destiny has to offer, it's important to note that the full project cannot be downloaded as of yet due to the fact that the team has yet to complete work on it. However, as evidenced above in the images taken from the early version of the D&Destiny Player's Guide, it definitely looks as though the team has made significant progress with features like its combat system, races, classes, monsters, and mechanics that surround Light and Darkness zones.

Due to the amount of attention that the team applied to the stats and descriptions, D&Destiny has the potential to wow newcomers to tabletop role-playing games, as well as ardent Dungeons & Dragons players alike. At the very least, the project has the chance to be even more enjoyable than the fan-made Pokemon conversion to D&D's 5e format.

While there's no telling exactly when D&Destiny will officially become available for players, the project's director has stated that their goal is for the first edition of the game to be available at some point in October of this year, but there won't be a hard date set for it due to potential setbacks. Luckily enough, though, interested parties can get early access and a beta test by supporting the project on Patreon.

Destiny 2's Forsaken expansion is set to launch on September 4, 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
