With the introduction of the Beyond Light expansion, Destiny 2 players were treated to a new story campaign set on Europa, alongside the ability to use the powers of the Dark as well as the Light for the first time ever. These new Stasis subclasses brought about some major changes to Destiny 2, especially where PvP was concerned. Since then, the game has been balanced multiple times, tweaking the powers of the Stasis subclasses so that they're not just overpowered.

However, this doesn't mean that Stasis abilities can't still be used to make some amazing plays. While a lot of players of Destiny 2 may be looking towards the new and improved Void subclasses being brought along with the Void 3.0 update, one player's clip shows that the Stasis subclasses can still pull off some impressive moves. As Stasis is related to cold and the cessation of movement, a player can effectively stop another in their tracks during PvP, setting up for easy kills.

One player, who posted their clip on Reddit, showed the perfect example of this. In the short clip, the player spots a Behemoth Titan sprinting towards their teammates and themselves. As the Titan rounds a corner though, the trap is strung and with a couple of Stasis abilities the intimidating Behemoth Titan is sent back to the respawn screen so they can think about their decisions. The Behemoth Titan is ironically the Stasis subclass of that class, meaning that in this case Stasis abilities perfectly countered a Stasis class.

As is the case for many of the Titan classes, the Behemoth focuses on getting up close in melee range to deal a lot of damage. However, as Stasis can block a player from moving, this makes it incredibly difficult to get close enough to do anything as a Behemoth Titan. Some comments in the Reddit post were baffled at how a character that is covered in Stasis crystals could be further influenced by them. Some joked that this is a Destiny 2 lore question that should be answered soon.

With the Beyond Light expansion having released in late 2020, Destiny 2 and developer Bungie are setting up 2022 to be a big year for the sci-fi shooter. With the introduction of a rework of Void abilities, alongside the Witch Queen expansion, there are plans for more updates to be on their way to Destiny 2. As well as Void 3.0, changes to the Solar and Arc elements are confirmed to be coming too, though there seems to be no such plans for Stasis at the moment.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
