After three weeks of waiting and speculation, Destiny 2 players have finally solved all three elemental configurations in the Zero Hour and claimed the Outbreak Perfected catalyst. Alongside solving the puzzle and beefing up the exotic pulse rifle, players also unlocked a new ship that…is something else.

After solving the Void Configuration, Arc Configuration, and Solar Configuration puzzles in the Zero Hour heroic mission, Destiny 2 players were rewarded with enough schematics to repair the mysterious ship from the mission. Named SCRAP CF-717-91, this Destiny 2 ship looks like a complete disaster but it also has its own personality. Instead of delivering a sleek ship with a cool design, Bungie went the other direction and some players are finding that funny in and of itself.

In addition to the bulky frame, the SCRAP ship’s most notable feature is a set of headlights that create a sizable lens flare on the player’s screen. So not only is the ship hard to look at from a design perspective – it’s literally hard to look at.

When the Zero Hour mission first launched, players discovered that completion of the heroic version unlocked a catalyst quest that featured two goals. One was to collect SIVA Particulates and the other asked Destiny 2 players get precision kills to make Outbreak Perfected stronger. At first, it seemed like the catalyst would take 5 weeks to complete but then players found and eventually solved the Void Configuration puzzle, which offers additional SIVA particulates and took the completion time down to 3 weeks. Assuming teams could also solve the Arc Configuration and Solar Configuration puzzles as well.

Speculation ran rampant over what the ship looked like, with many believing that it would be the Nanophoenix, the raid ship from the Wrath of the Machine. It made sense given that players needed to solve an elaborate puzzle in Wrath in order to claim the Destiny 1 version of Outbreak Perfected, Outbreak Prime, but the rough blueprint in the quest suggested the design was much bulkier and, frankly, quite ugly. Some thought this might be some misdirection but it turns out it was spot on.
