In Bungie's first official reveal trailer for Destiny 2, Guardians were shown how the Cabal attacked the last city of Earth to ultimately destroy their beautiful Tower and all of their beloved gear, marking a complete reset for players. Now, Bungie has released a brand new piece of cinematic footage featuring the narration of everyone's favorite blue Titan Vanguard, Commander Zavala, reminding Guardians that although the splendor of the Tower that once was is no more, such glories can always be rebuilt with perseverance and a strong sense of purpose.

As seen below in the latest trailer for Destiny 2, Bungie offers a look at Commander Zavala's rise from Guardian to Vanguard as he battles countless enemies, meets many deaths, and is respawned again and again only to press on to see peace flourish alongside the construction of the original Tower. Of course, with players now well aware of the Tower's decimation, Zavala alludes to it simply being a test of Guardians' strength, fortitude, and mettle.

Naturally, with the Tower now gone, that means Guardians will have to get used to a lot of fresh changes to come in Destiny 2, as Bungie is set to revamp the sequel as much as possible in order to make it stand out from its predecessor. For instance, the developer has announced the inclusion of three new Guardian subclasses, new weapon slots, new worlds to explore, and a whole lot more.

Guardians will also presumably be able to get revenge on the Cabal leader who moved to attack the last city of Earth and destroy the Tower, with the primary antagonist of the base game being Dominus Ghaul. As it so happens, Bungie recently revealed the villain's seasoned voice actor undertaking the role as Neil Kaplan, who's worked on Heroes of the Storm, Star Wars: The Old Republic, The Last of Us, and Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor in the past.

All things considered, it definitely looks as if Bungie is stepping up its efforts to include more satisfying story elements in Destiny 2, as one of the main complaints fans had about the original was its lack of a cohesive narrative. Thankfully, the studio has decided it will be doing away with Grimoire cards, which hopefully means more in-depth exploration of the characters and the lore in the game itself like with this most recent video detailing Zavala's journey.

Destiny 2 is set to launch on September 8, 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
