The Destiny 2 Twitter account is active once again ahead of the new season, randomly name-dropping the Hive Goddess Xivu Arath in the process. With Season of Plunder now only a few days away from officially coming to an end, Bungie still has yet to fully outline what players can expect from Season 19. While various blog updates have detailed some upcoming changes to the Destiny 2 sandbox, the story is always the last bit of information Bungie reveals. However, the Destiny 2 Twitter account has become pretty active once again after the fun little Telesto Takeover Event a couple of weeks back. The Tweet reveals a new cutscene that was originally datamined by players ahead of the Season of Plunder epilogue. In it, House of Light Kell Mithrax studies the secrets of the reliquaries found during the Ketchcrash missions. Using the knowledge, he crafted a drink given to Osiris to help him finally wake from his coma and relay the memories of Savathun, the Witch Queen.RELATED: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Datamine Reveals Destiny and Monster Hunter CrossoverHowever, it wasn't the video that piqued many Destiny 2 fan's interests as much as the text that Bungie used in the actual Tweet. Seemingly out of the blue, Bungie mentioned that the threat of Xivu Arath looms, potentially hinting that this Hive God of War could be a major factor into the events of Season 19. Xivu Arath has been fairly dormant for a while now, last seen being a thread during the events of Season 12 and 13.

So far, players have yet to really see Xivu Arath in game, only hearing her mentioned by name and through her Hive forces. As the third member of the Osmium siblings, players have already gone up against Oryx, The Taken King, and just recently Savathun, The Witch Queen. While Oryx is dead and Savathun is technically defeated for the moment, it stands to reason that Xivu Arath is likely going to position herself to take over complete control over the Hive faction, which is currently without a true leader. Defeating the High Celebrant during Season of the Hunt, Xivu Arath has been temporarily defeated, likely gaining strength for another big push.

While nothing is official yet, many Destiny 2 fans will likely be surprised to hear that Xivu Arath may be at the front of the seasonal conflict. Rumors had been circulating that the Warmind AI Rasputin and Ana Bray will be making a return leading up to the Lightfall expansion in February. In fact, Rasputin is the one that informs the Vanguard of the city on Neptune, so fitting that story into Season 19 does make sense, especially since both characters have been missing since the events of the Season of the Lost.

Destiny 2 is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
