Update: Bungie has been able to resolve the connection issues with the Destiny 2 Witch Queen raid and services are now working as normal.

Original story follows.

Bungie released the Destiny 2 Witch Queen expansion late last month to rave reviews, with many fans praising it as one of the game's best expansions to date. Now that Destiny 2 players have had time to complete the Witch Queen campaign, they're ready to tackle the newly-added Vow of the Disciple raid. Unfortunately, it seems that the Destiny 2 Vow of the Disciple raid is suffering from connection issues at the time of this writing.

Destiny 2 players trying to play the new Witch Queen raid are being hit with a variety of error codes and are generally finding it impossible to participate. Some of the Destiny 2 error codes players are experiencing while trying to access the new raid include ANTEATER, GUITAR, and BAT. Bungie has acknowledged the problems on Twitter, asking fans to stay tuned for updates. Unfortunately, a timetable for when these Destiny 2 Witch Queen raid errors will be resolved was not provided.

It's not uncommon for major new Destiny 2 content drops to suffer from connection issues. Usually this is due to a flood of players all trying to jump into the game at once, so maybe a queue system could be set up to fix the problem. Destiny 2 queues were used when the Witch Queen expansion first launched to alleviate some of its launch problems, but since we don't actually know what's causing the Vow of the Disciple raid connection issues, it's hard to say if that solution would work here as well.

The Destiny 2 Vow of the Disciple raid connection issues throw a wrench in the plans of anyone who was hoping to tackle it today and come away as World's First. But while the connection problems persist, Destiny 2 fans can continue preparing for the raid, keeping in mind the Exotics that are banned from Vow of the Disciple while putting together the loadouts that work best for them.

We will update this article once the Destiny 2 raid connection issues have been resolved.

Destiny 2 is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
