Destiny 2: The Witch Queen launches later this month and it’s shaping up to be Destiny 2’s biggest expansion yet. Bungie had recently announced that The Witch Queen had surpassed 1 million pre-orders, and it was on track to be the most pre-ordered expansion in Destiny 2 history.

Last year, Bungie revealed a collector’s edition for Destiny 2: The Witch Queen. It came with several physical and digital goodies, including a Lucent Hive Ghost replica, a Psychometer Replica, and the digital soundtrack of The Witch Queen. The collector’s edition was available for $249.99, but fans could also purchase it for $150 without the game code. While Destiny 2: The Witch Queen does not officially launch until February 22, it looks some fans have received the collector’s edition weeks in advance.

Several players have posted on various Destiny 2 subReddits stating that they have received the collector’s edition for The Witch Queen. User lonelanta has also shared a list of pictures and videos that show the contents of the box in great detail. In the comments section, lonelanta has posted the full letter from Ikora that comes with this version. Bungie has likely hidden several secrets in the collector’s edition, and fans have been trying to dig through the physical goodies to find them.

User Edumesh states that they went through the full journal, and is alarmed by the lore revealed about Stasis almost being selfaware. Another player pointed out that the journal also contained canonical reasons for Stasis being nerfed in Destiny 2’s Crucible mode.

It should be noted that while some users have received the collector’s edition, fans do not have access to the actual The Witch Queen game until it officially launches. The collector’s edition does not come with a game disk, only a code, so users will have to wait for Bungie to release the update before they can dive into Destiny 2’s newest expansion.

For those unaware, Bungie is no longer an independent studio as the developer was recently acquired by Sony Interactive Entertainment for 3.6 billion USD. While Bungie will become a part of Sony, it maintains creative freedom and can release games on any platform of its choice. Bungie has also confirmed that Destiny 2 and games currently in development will remain multiplatform. Sony acquired Bungie to mainly utilize its experience with live-service games, as it plans to release at least 10 live-service games by 2026.

Destiny 2: The Witch Queen launches on February 22 for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
