Destiny 2's newest dungeon Warlord's Ruin sends players into a medieval-style castle to fight off the Taken and Scorn. After defeating Fikrul and traversing the treacherous halls of the castle, they will arrive at the second encounter, which pits them against a large Taken ogre, and a whole host of Taken and Scorn ads. The Season of the Wish artifact mods will come in handy here (especially From Whence You Came From), as this is where the dungeon's difficulty starts to ramp up with serious enemy density. Here's how to defeat the Locus of Wailing Grief in Warlord's Ruin.

Destiny 2: How to Get Lair Keys

Every Season in Destiny 2 follows a similar formula, so players will want to track down some Lair Keys as they do the new content.

Defeating Locus Of Wailing Grief

Destiny 2 Locus of Wailing Grief Shelter From The Storm

Before starting the encounter, take note of two key details around the arena.

Behind the rally flag, hugging the stone railing of the balcony, there are several burning torches. These will provide shelter from the cold during the encounter when approached.

Destiny 2 Locus Of Wailing Grief Burning Desire-1

In front of the rally flag and around where the boss spawns are large, unlit braziers. The goal of the encounter is to dunk flame orbs into them, aka Burning Desire. Boss DPS starts when all flames are lit.

Here's how players can beat Rathil, First Broken Knight of Fikrul, in Destiny 2's Warlord's Ruin dungeon.

Destiny 2 Locus of Wailing Grief Encounter

Shoot the floating black Taken orb in the middle to begin the encounter, which will start by spawning the large ogre boss himself and various Taken enemies, including Taken yellow bars on both sides of the arena. Clear them out.

Destiny 2 Locus of Wailing Grief Scorn Chieftain

Once the Taken eyes have been cleared, Scorn will spawn on the sides of the arena where the lit-up torches are. Look for the large yellow-bar chieftains.

Destiny 2 Locus of Wailing Grief Capture And Biting Cold

Killing these minibosses will spawn the very same capture points as seen in the first encounter, but it will also bring in a freezing cold which will eventually kill the player. To cleanse the cold, walk towards the lit-up torches on the back of the stone railing. The Imminent Wish timer also returns in this encounter as soon as the yellow bars are killed, so capturing as many points as possible within that time frame is key.

Destiny 2: All Starcat Locations

Collecting all the Starcats is needed to get the seasonal title for Destiny 2's Season of the Wish. Here's where to find them all.

Destiny 2 Locus of Wailing Desire Fire Charge

Once Imminent Wish runs out, depending on how many points were captured, players will receive an equal amount of fire charges by the rally banner. Pick them up, and dunk them into the four braziers located around the boss. These four fires mark the four DPS phases players will have, so repeat the process until all fires are lit.

Destiny 2 Locus of Wailing Grief Damage Phase

With all braziers lit up, a message will appear on the left: "Your wish is granted, O vengeance mine". This is the start of DPS against the Locus of Wailing Grief. However, the cold has returned, which means players should stand by the big fires they have lit to deal damage. Each lit fire grants about 14 seconds of damage (Naeem's Wish Empowerment), after which players will need to move to the next one until all fires have died out.

After that, the process begins anew, until the Locus is defeated. The Locus is a slow-moving boss with a massive critical hit point on his head, so using precision weapons like snipers, which were buffed for Season of the Wish, or linear fusion rifles, is a good idea since he has a powerful stomp that can push players out of the shelter of the fire. Well of Radiance is once again a must-have for general survivability, even if players will keep on moving around every 14 seconds or so. Celestial Nighthawk on Hunters is another fantastic Super to take advantage of due to its precision damage, ideal for this situation.
