A Destiny 2 player has discovered that the Child of the Old Gods Void Warlock Aspect might be bugged and isn’t providing the benefits it is supposed to. This has been corroborated by several other Destiny 2 community members who are baffled by this revelation, and many players are wondering if it was intentional.

The Void 3.0 subclass launched with Destiny 2 The Witch Queen DLC last year as a part of Destiny 2’s plan to revamp the three Light subclasses. This added three Aspects to the Voidwalker Warlock arsenal: Child of the Old Gods, Chaos Accelerant, and Feed the Void. There have been a few tweaks made to the subclass since then, but at the moment, it seems that the Child of the Old Gods Aspect isn’t working as intended. This aspect gives players a Void Soul on Rift cast that tracks enemies and drains their life while weakening them. However, there are other benefits of running this Aspect that aren’t working which players have pointed out.

Reddit user i420bootywizard pointed this out on the Destiny The Game Subreddit, where they mentioned that the Child of the Old Gods Aspect in Destiny 2 is bugged and isn’t providing the health or ability regeneration benefits. For instance, If players are running a Healing Rift, the Void Soul will provide Grenade and Melee Ability regeneration while draining enemies. Similarly, running an Empowering Rift will provide health regeneration, but several players have complained that both of these benefits aren’t triggering for them.

To back up their claim, i420bootywizard provided a video showcasing the bug, Reddit posts from other users pointing out the same issue, and also posted multiple Bungie forum links regarding the problem. The community appreciated their efforts but was left wondering if this was an actual bug or a stealth nerf that Bungie failed to mention. If it is a stealth nerf, this wouldn’t be the first time Bungie made changes in Destiny 2 and forgot to tell players about it. However, considering the Aspect’s description still mentions these benefits, it is more likely a bug.

This isn’t the only problem Warlock mains are facing in Destiny 2 as even the Solar 3.0 subclass needs fixing. The bug in question is related to the Celestial Fire melee ability that fails to trigger several weapon and armor perks. Surprisingly, this has been the case for almost a year, which has led to frustration among the players who have repeatedly urged Bungie to fix it. The list of things Bungie needs to fix in the game keeps growing, and hopefully, the developer will take action soon.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
