2022 seems like it's going to be quite the packed year for Destiny 2 fans, with some big news having already dropped for Bungie's sci-fi shooter. The Witch Queen expansion looks to bring new exotic weapons, a new story campaign to play through and raids that will allow players to get their hands on some new gear. Alongside the Witch Queen expansion though, it seems Destiny 2 developer Bungie is bringing about some big quality of life changes to the game.

Alongside bringing back some old weapons for upcoming "Trials of Osiris," and changing the way Reputation is gained in much of multiplayer in Destiny 2, Bungie is bringing some changes to the way elements work. Elements usually form up the basis of many of the subclasses available to players in Destiny 2, whether it be the Arcstrider Hunter or Voidwalker Warlock. For the first of its elemental overhauls, Bungie is looking towards the Void element, something fans have been hoping will get an update for a long time.

As Bungie says in its "A Closer Look at Void 3.0" post on the developer's website, the Void element is something that hasn't had a major update since 2017, and so it seemed like the right one to change first. Alongside building on the lore of the Void element, which according to Bungie will play more like the using of gravity, space and the cosmic to destroy a Guardian's enemies. There will be changes to actions or "verbs" as Bungie calls them for all three classes in Destiny 2.

The Warlock particularly will be getting some major changes to the way it uses Void in the Void 3.0 update. Like Hunters and Titans, they will have three aspects to wield. "Chaos Accelerant" allows all grenades to be overcharged, "Feed the Void" allows devour to be activated by defeating an enemy with a Void ability, and "Child of the Old Gods," is perhaps the most interesting and obvious change to Void abilities. It allows a player to summon a Void Soul, which can attach itself to a nearby enemy, draining them for melee strength or health depending on a player's rift choice.

Moreover, Void 3.0 brings some new Fragments for Warlock players in Destiny 2. A few of these were revealed in the website post, such as the ability to make enemies explode when they're killed with a Void ability, and making grenades weaken enemies. Weaken is a new debuff applied in Void 3.0 which slows and disorients enemies, causing them to take increased damage.
