Destiny 2 is a popular game with a passionate fanbase that is always looking for things that can be improved or tweaked to make it better. Developer Bungie often makes attempts to listen to this fan feedback, and have changed Destiny 2 plenty in the years since its launch. As the sci-fi shooter looks to enter its fifth year, Bungie is looking to bring some important quality of life changes, such as Reputation gain tweaks in Destiny 2's multiplayer.

Alongside other tweaks and larger changes, Destiny 2 is bringing about some updates to the way elements work in the game's subclasses. Arc, Solar, and Void make up the different paths a player can choose to customize their Guardian as they see fit. To begin with the changes to these elemental subclasses, Bungie is looking towards Void, through the Destiny 2 Void 3.0 rework patch that will vastly change how the element works for the Warlock, Hunter and Titan classes.

For the Hunter, the Void element prioritizes stealth and movement. For the Warlock, Void can allow a player to damage and drain health from enemies, and for the Titan, Void is used mostly as an element to help the player and their team tank damage. However, where once the Destiny 2 Titan's Void abilities seemed rather similar, as they both had similar cool downs and inputs. Yet, now Bungie is looking to change that, giving the Ward of Dawn ability changes to make it a more reactionary tool with a lower cool down and instant activation.

“This change means it’s a much better reactionary defensive tool,” said Destiny designer Mike Humbolt in regard to the Ward of Dawn change. In terms of the other Titan Void ability, Sentinel Shield, it will still allow for players to run around the battlefield bashing aside foes with their shield or tossing it as a melee attack. Shield Bash kills will now also grant a full overshield, and thrown shield will apply the new volatile effect, which is one of many new conditions making their way to Destiny 2. Volatile causes a target to explode after taking additional damage.

Alongside these Titan ability changes, the Titan in Destiny 2's Void 3.0 update will also receive new aspects. Controlled Demolition means that a Void ability or volatile detonation also makes a target volatile. Bastion causes Barricade to generate overshield for the Titan and their allies, and Offensive Bulwark allows grenades to charge faster while in Ward of Dawn. These changes are not the most extensive to make it to Void 3.0, though the Titan class will have some nice new abilities going into the Witch Queen expansion.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
