The Witch Queen expansion for Destiny 2 introduced new systems, and it was also a perfect opportunity for Bungie to revamp older ones, such as the Light subclasses and how they fare compared to Beyond Light's Stasis. The first Light subclass to be reworked with Stasis' own system based on Aspects and Fragments was Void, and Destiny 2's Void 3.0 update changed a lot of the core gameplay flow for each of the three classes in the game. Void Titans who struggle to choose their build can use this guide to learn what the best combinations are and why.

Void 3.0 Titan Builds - Exotics

Exotic items in Destiny 2 are often one of the core elements of any build because they either grant new abilities and perks or simply make existing ones better or just different enough to change the gameplay flow. Choosing which Exotics to pair with a build is very important, and Titans have several great options to pick.

One of the most commonly used Exotics in endgame Titan builds is Ursa Furiosa, which allows players to convert part of the damage they absorb with their Banner Shield into Super energy, which is then used to recast Banner Shield more often. This item is particularly good for two reasons - Orb of Power generation and a team-wide damage buff while Banner Shield is up.

Casting Banner Shield more often means that allies can pick up Orbs of Power more frequently, which in turn can help with their builds or, at the very least, it can lead to an increase in Super usage. As for the damage buff for allies, Banner Shield provides a bonus of 35% damage to all players who shoot through the shield, but it's worth noting that this is still called Weapons of Light, meaning it doesn't stack with Ward of Dawn.

Another great Exotic to use for Void builds is Doom Fang Pauldron, which makes Void melee kills grant Super energy to players while they are not using their Super. Another huge boon of Doom Fang Pauldron is to allow Destiny 2 players to extend their Super's duration by getting Melee kills or Shield Throw kills. This can make for very impressive times on one's Super, which is particularly valuable in solo play.

It's worth mentioning that players can now take advantage of the Bastion Aspect for granting themselves and allies an overshield while they stand near a Barricade. This pairs extremely well with an Exotic called Crest of Alpha Lupi, which heals both the player using it and their allies when they activate a Barricade. This can come in particularly handy in PvP, but also in every other game mode in Destiny 2.

Furthermore, Crest of Alpha Lupi generates an extra Orb of Light for allies when using a Super, making it a good choice for supporting roles and Raids for damage phases.

Lastly, what is likely the most powerful Exotic item for Destiny 2's Void Titans is another chest armor, called Heart of Inmost Light. This item is exceptionally strong for Void builds because it empowers the Titans' remaining two abilities when they use one, improving their damage or resistance to damage (in case of the Barricade) and making their cooldowns shorter. This Exotic is a fantastic tool for Void Titans because it has powerful synergies with several mods, Aspects, Fragments, and weapon perks, making it the best Exotic to use for Void builds.

Void 3.0 Titan Builds - Aspects, Fragments, and Abilities

As far as Aspects are concerned, Void Titans have access to three of them: Controlled Demolition, Bastion, and Offensive Bulwark.

Players can only choose two Aspects to use, and while all three have their uses, the best ones in most situations are Controlled Demolition and Bastion, both for solo play and party play. The main reason for this is that Controlled Demolition offers plenty of crowd control and add-clearing potential to any Void build, especially when paired with the new seasonal mod, Volatile Flow.

Controlled Demolition can be used very efficiently with Vortex Grenades, which now pull all enemies towards the center of the area, meaning that any defeated enemy also explodes around several others. This is even stronger with the aforementioned Heart of Inmost Light Exotic, as using other abilities will empower grenades and reduce their cooldown, making for a great gameplay flow.

Using Bastion means that players will also have access to an on-demand overshield when using their Barricade, which also empowers their melee ability and their grenade.

Now that all Void Fragments are available to players after Destiny 2's Vow of the Disciple Raid was completed for the first time on March 5, all classes can fully take advantage of their kit. Among the most powerful to use for Titans is Echo of Expulsion, which increases the characters' Intellect by 10 points and makes Void ability kills detonate their target or the enemies affected, resulting in an explosion that's very useful for add-clearing purposes. It's worth noting that enemies will explode multiple times if they are volatile, thanks to Controlled Demolition or Volatile Flow.

The second most important Fragment for Void Titans is Echo of Undermining, which imposes a penalty of 20 points to Discipline to have grenades apply the weaken debuff onto enemies. This causes enemies to take more damage from all sources, including weapons and other abilities. Because having Heart of Inmost Light means that Destiny 2 players will likely have empowered grenades, a Vortex Grenade could apply weaken with the first damage tick and then deal a lot more damage with every following tick.

The last Fragment slot will not matter as much as the first two, but there are a few great options. The first is Echo of Provision, which grants players melee energy when damaging enemies with grenades, which will happen quite often with Heart of Inmost Light and high Discipline.

Echo of Remnants is also great if players choose the Vortex Grenade as their grenade ability, as this Fragment increases its duration. Echo of Leeching is another decent option if players use Shield Throw as their melee attack. It can easily bounce between enemies and kill them, providing health regeneration to players and their allies. Similarly, Echo of Exchange is also suitable for this build, as it provides grenade energy back for each melee kill.

While Vortex Grenade is a very powerful ability to pick, players shouldn't underestimate the burst damage of Scatter Grenades and the utility of Suppression Grenades, both very viable options in all Destiny 2 content. As for the melee option, Shield Bash is likely better for PvP games, but in PvE, Shield Throw is much more reliable because rushing enemies in close-quarters combat is not always feasible, especially in Grandmaster Nightfall Strikes.

Void 3.0 Titan Builds - Best Mods

Because Charged with Light builds have been mostly losing their appeal through the nerfs to Protective Light and the changes to Orb of Powers, Elemental Wells are now extremely powerful in Destiny 2. For Void Builds, this is especially true, as players can use the combo of Reaping Wellmaker and Well of Tenacity to create Void Wells easily and also get a damage resistance buff on top of it. For Void Titans using Heart of Inmost Light, this is even more impactful.

Elemental Ordnance is also a fantastic pick because of how important throwing grenades is to Void Titans, meaning that every grenade kill spawns a Void Elemental Well. This can be further capitalized on by using Bountiful Wells as another mod, which creates an additional Elemental Well of the same type every time players generate one. This is particularly strong because it applies to both Reaping Wellmaker and Elemental Ordnance at once.

As mentioned above, Volatile Flow is a new seasonal mod for Season of the Risen, and it's one of the best to use with the Void 3.0 rework. This mod pairs exceptionally nicely with Heart of Inmost Light and Controlled Demolition, as it grants Volatile rounds to Void weapons after picking up a Void Elemental Well. Depending on how many Void weapons players use, Font of Might could be another great addition to the mix, and it would work very well with Volatile Flow.

If players manage to stack a bit of Strength in their build, then they can also go for Melee Wellmaker, which creates an Elemental Well matching the element of the user's subclass on melee kills. Strength is mainly needed to consistently have the melee ability up in this case, improving the overall flow of a Heart of Inmost Light build.

Destiny 2 is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
