Bungie confirms an exciting change to the Stasis subclass in Destiny 2, allowing more players to immediately access the subclass than ever before, as The Final Shape launches in June. Destiny 2 players have been clamoring for a change to Stasis subclasses for years as the "Light and Darkness" saga reaches its culmination.

Originally planned for release on February 27, Destiny 2's The Final Shape expansion will release on June 4 with new Prismatic subclass abilities, a comprehensive campaign experience, all-new activities, and so much more. The Final Shape also marks the end of Destiny 2's seasonal model as Bungie shifts to an episodic model in Year 7. Before the launch of The Final Shape, Bungie announced the "Expansion Open Access" period, which gives players access to the Shadowkeep, Beyond Light, and The Witch Queen expansions for free until June 3. Destiny 2's Expansion Open Access also gives players access to Year 6 seasonal content.

Pointed out by Reddit user OtherwiseFeedback679, Bungie's latest "This Week in Destiny" blog post confirmed that the Stasis subclass will be available to all players at no additional cost when The Final Shape expansion launches on June 4. Destiny 2 fans in the Reddit community are excited, since the change means that players will no longer need to buy the Destiny 2: Beyond Light expansion to access the campaign or Stasis subclasses for Warlocks, Hunters, and Titans. Moreover, players who want to own the rest of the contents of the Shadowkeep and Beyond Light expansions, including Exotics and dungeons, may purchase Destiny 2 Legacy Collection 2024 after The Final Shape launches. Although Destiny 2 fans must purchase the rest of the content from Beyond Light, the community is relieved that Stasis subclasses will finally be available for all players to use, regardless of the DLC they own.

Destiny 2 Players are Excited About Stasis Being Available to Everyone After The Final Shape Launch

Many are also excited about potential buffs and reworks to Stasis subclasses, since the subclasses will soon be used by more newcomers and returning Destiny 2 fans. The overall reception to this change appears to be highly positive, and many are optimistic that Bungie can make more adjustments ahead of the launch of Destiny 2: The Final Shape and beyond.

Bungie can build off the positive momentum of Destiny 2's Expansion Open Access period by ensuring a smooth launch of The Final Shape and providing a clear roadmap for the new episodic content once ready. Additional updates and tweaks to the Stasis subclass will also encourage players to continue using their Stasis powers for months and years to come. In addition, Bungie can avoid creating issues with the new Prismatic subclass by incorporating player feedback and learning from mistakes made with the Stasis subclass in recent years.
