Today Destiny 2 released its newest season, Season of the Splicer. The season brings a lot of new content to Destiny 2, including its latest season pass.
Season passes in Destiny 2 work very similarly to battle passes in other big titles, with a free track available to all players and a paid track available with additional completion rewards for $10. Season passes include a variety of XP boosts, cosmetics, materials, and a new exotic firearm that players get instantly just for purchasing the pass. This season is all about Destiny 2's Guardians taking the fight to the Vex, and many of the season pass' rewards reflect that.
The new exotic players get for purchasing the season pass is dubbed the Cryosthesia 77k. It is a sidearm with stasis abilities that freeze enemies in their tracks when players land enough hits, which looks like it will have a big impact on Destiny 2 players. The season pass also includes a new exotic Sparrow for players to zip around on, a full seasonal armor set that is unique for each of Destiny 2's three classes, a handful of emotes, and an ornament for the Cryosthesia 77k that gives it a green and pink paint job.
Of course, the season pass also gives players what they have come to expect, with a load of crafting materials, engrams, and bright dust to help sweeten the deal of the big-ticket items. Purchasing it will also grant players access to Season of the Splicer's new Override activity, as well as the launch of Destiny 2's controversial transmog system and grants them access to the return of Destiny's original raid, the Vault of Glass.
Season of the Splicer looks to be stacked with new content for Destiny 2 players. Whether or not players decide to get the Season Pass is up to them, but there is definitely a lot packed into it for only $10. Season of the Splicer also looks to continue Destiny 2's running story, so its launch is a great time for new and returning players to jump into the game and see what the season all has to offer. Hopefully, any players jumping into Season of the Splicer enjoy it and have good luck getting some of the new gear being added throughout the season, such as the return of the original Destiny's Vex Mythoclast fusion rifle.
