Several Destiny 2 players have voiced their frustration at the treasure-laden triumph challenge found in the Season of the Deep. The challenge has proven near-impossible for players due to the painfully low odds at which treasure-laden combatants spawn in Destiny 2's Salvage activity.

Destiny 2 has unique activities in each of its seasons. During this season, known as the Season of the Deep, players are tasked with going on an activity in which they recover Golden Age tech for the Drifter while facing off against the Hive. One of the game's seasonal achievements (also known as Triumphs) dubbed "Salvage Treasurer," involves killing 12 treasure-laden combatants during the activity. Destiny 2's interface gives the player an indicator for when a treasure-laden combatant is near them. However, the odds of this enemy appearing are abysmally low.

Some dedicated players have taken to Reddit to voice their frustrations at the Salvage Treasurer triumph, with some claiming that the odds are so exceedingly low that they have thought the elusive enemies weren't even released yet. One player even relayed the story about having only encountered this particular type of enemy twice across 70 runs, which means that the probability of having a treasure-laden combatant appear in Destiny 2 is very likely less than 10%.

Of course, this doesn't mean that players haven't been able to clear the challenge. Some players have even commented that this isn't the first time the Destiny 2 developers issued a challenge with the odds stacked against them. One user commented that players faced a similar issue with Ruffians during the Season of the Plunder. So much so that Bungie ended up reducing the necessary number to clear the achievement by ~50% during the last month of the Season to allow players to achieve this Triumph more easily. Still, this challenge has proven more difficult than the one posed by the Season of the Plunder, as some players have pointed out that treasure-laden enemies appear at random fixed locations.

The major problem is that players must go to those fixed locations to deal with the treasure-laden combatants during a time-limited activity should they appear during the Salvage activity. Hilariously enough, there doesn't seem to be a reward tied to this Triumph, so players can technically skip this achievement without missing out on any resources. However, completionists and dedicated Destiny 2 players dislike the odds stacked against them during this latest season.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
