The story of Season of Defiance in Destiny 2 is told through the quest line called "We Stand Unbroken". The first week of this quest can be done at any time, but for story reasons it is recommended that players complete the Lightfall campaign first before continuing on to the second week of this quest.
Being the second week of Season 20, players gain access to a new activity called Defiant Battleground: Cosmodrome. Other than that there isn't much to do this week, as the second part of this quest is fairly short. Nevertheless, here is what Destiny 2 players can expect as they begin the second week of "We Stand Unbroken".
This guide contains spoilers, so players should proceed with caution.
Go to the War Table
The first order of business for the second week of this quest line is for Destiny 2 players to go to the H.E.L.M. From there, go to the War Table and use it to speak with Amanda Holliday. She thanks players for rescuing her earlier and tells them that some of the people she was imprisoned with want to help rescue other captives. Finally, she tells players that there is an outpost in the Cosmodrome where more captives are being held.
Complete Defiant Battleground: Cosmodrome
After Amanda is done talking, navigate to the Cosmodrome map to see a new activity called Defiant Battleground: Cosmodrome. Just like with the Defiant Battleground: EDZ activity, there are no Champions in this version of the activity. If players load into this activity via the playlist, they will need to prepare for both Unstoppable Champions and Overload Champions. On top of that, Destiny 2 players will also want to be 1770 power as well for the playlist version.
Defiant Battleground: Cosmodrome plays out similarly to Defiant Battleground: EDZ. Players will have to open the portal to get into the Pyramid. Of course, before players can do that the area will need to be cleared of Shadow Legion forces. Once it is clear, open the portal to the Ascendant Realm to bypass the barrier around the Pyramid.
Unlike the EDZ version of this activity, there is significantly more platforming in Defiant Battleground: Cosmodrome. This area of the Ascendant Plane is broken up into chunks, so players will have to carefully jump from platform to platform while dealing with any Taken that block their way.
The boss of this activity is unique due to their ability to teleport players out of the Pyramid and back into the Ascendant Plane. Not only will this boss do this before the battle, but also during it. Simply follow the waypoint to get back to the arena and defeat the boss.
Use the Holoprojector on the Farm
Once the activity is completed, return to the Farm. From there, use the holoprojector to speak with Devrim Kay. He discusses the events at the end of the Lightfall campaign and speculates on the intentions of the Witness. This is where the second week of "We Stand Unbroken" ends.
