Bungie has announced that Destiny 2 players will be able to access their vault from orbit starting Season 23. This will be a welcome addition to the game as players won’t have to go to the Tower or HELM in Destiny 2 every time they want to pull an item from the vault.

Accessing the vault in Destiny 2 has always been a pain point for players, considering it can only be accessed at four locations in the game right now. Additionally, if players have to pull something from their vaults while in the game, they have to go to that location to access it. There are a few Destiny 2 companion apps available that let players pull items from their vault quickly; however, even that requires them to switch to said app in order to do so. Now, with this feature, players will finally have some respite as they will be able to access their vaults without having to depend on a different app.

Destiny 2 players call out an annoying Festival of the Lost feature that disrupts the gameplay experience of the Haunted Sectors.

In a recent This Week in Destiny post, Bungie announced that starting Season 23, players will have access to their vaults directly from orbit. Although, this still only adds one more location for players to access their vault, so if they want an item while they’re in a raid or any other activity in Destiny 2, they will have to go back to orbit to do so. To tackle this, Bungie has mentioned that it is looking at “additional areas” that can give vault access to players. In addition to this, the post also mentions major reworks to Ghost Mods and changes to Glimmer cost when purchasing materials from Master Rahool.

Aside from this, Destiny 2 Season 23 is making some big Exotic weapon changes, specifically for PvE activities. Along with that, Season 23 will also rework Auto Rifles, Pulse Rifles, Glaives, and Sniper Rifles as well to improve their viability in PvE activities. Along with this, the upcoming season is getting tons of PvP content as well, which will also add a new Iron Banner mode called Tribute. Bungie will also be continuing its Exotic Armor tuning with Destiny 2 Season 23, as it aims to buff underutilized Exotics and nerf the overpowered ones.

Another notable change Bungie plans to implement in Destiny 2 is the removal of Legendary Shards from the game. This in-game currency will be slowly phased out starting Season 23, and will be fully removed from the game when the Final Shape expansion releases. Consequently, the in-game economy is also getting a revamp next season to compensate for the removal of Legendary Shards.

Destiny 2 is currently available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
