Bungie has revealed Destiny 2 Season of the Witch, which will introduce new Hive abilities for The Guardians and showcase the Hive God Xivu Arath for the first time in the game’s history. The team revealed that since this season focuses on the Hive enemies, it was the best time for them to bring back Crota’s End, which will release on September 1, 2023.

The recent showcase also revealed the release date for Destiny 2: The Final Shape DLC, which arrives on February 27, 2024. It also confirmed that the Guardians will venture inside The Traveler and get answers to all the burning questions they have regarding the game’s lore. Additionally, Destiny 2: The Final Shape is also introducing a new enemy type called Subjugators, who will wield Stasis and Strand powers. It is currently unknown if these Subjugators are similar to Tormentors introduced in Lightfall, however, they seem to be providing support to the enemy factions by Freezing or Suspending Guardians. Another detail that showcase revealed is that a new version of the original Vanguard Tower from Destiny 1 will be a part of the Final Shape expansion.

Aside from this, Bungie also revealed more details about Season of the Witch, which will also introduce new Artifact Mods in Destiny 2 along with new sandbox features called Elemental Orbs. This season will focus on the Guardians’ attempts to make contact with Savathun, and will also see Eris Morn turn into a Hive entity to help the Vanguard.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
