Destiny 2's Season of the Haunted is coming to an end, and Bungie is soon launching Season 18 and the highly anticipated Arc 3.0 update. Season 18 is set to launch on August 23 after the Destiny 2 showcase, with the presentation itself likely revealing the name and details for the upcoming Season and the Lightfall expansion. There will be maintenance going on during the showcase, which means that fans may want to start their game at the right time to avoid getting caught in long queues.

Destiny 2 Season 18 Launch Time

Destiny 2 will undergo maintenance at 9 AM PT, which is also when the August showcase will begin. Once the showcase ends, players will be able to jump into the game while background maintenance goes on for another hour. This is a list of times for multiple time zones that will allow fans to know when the update will be rolling out and then jump into Season 18 at the right time:

It's worth mentioning that with tomorrow's patch, the official patch numbers for Destiny 2 will change to match the internal codes for clarity purposes, but this is just a cosmetic change that doesn't affect anything else.

In order to be able to log into the game as soon as possible, Destiny 2 players should check for available updates on their PC or console. If not, a quick reboot is often a good option, as the launcher should then scout for updates and start installing them immediately.

Destiny 2's Season 18 will likely start with a cutscene or introductory mission to set the themes of the story and introduce the main characters involved. Only after the introductory mission is over will players be able to obtain the seasonal artifact and start exploring the new activity and missions, as well as discover the various secrets that the Season holds.

Season 18 will also come with the customary increase in Power Level cap and Power Level requirements for some of the activities. The new hard cap should be 1580, not counting the additional boost from the seasonal artifact once it's leveled up.

Lastly, it's worth mentioning that the Season 18 Raid for Destiny 2 will launch on Friday, August 26, and the Contest Mode should be up for the first 24 hours since release.

Destiny 2 is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
