The multiple raid activities in Destiny 2 provide nearly endless replay value for some fans of the game, and players are still discovering weird secrets throughout the Root of Nightmares raid such as a hidden Tormentor that can only be found by backtracking to a certain point. This latest raid has proven to be one of the most successful additions brought with the latest expansion for Destiny 2, offering tons of exclusive new weapons, armor pieces, triumphs, and more.

Launched just a couple of weeks after Destiny 2: Lightfall, the Root of Nightmares is the latest 6-player raid activity that offers endgame rewards for a relatively easy endgame activity. The raid is so easily-achievable when compared to the game's other raids that over 100,000 players completed it in contest mode before the end of day one, with the first clear being achieved a mere two and a half hours after the raid went live. This easily makes it one of the most cleared raids while in contest mode, allowing many Guardians to quickly get their hands on some of the raid-exclusive weapons and gear pieces. Among these valuable weapons is the Conditional Finality exotic shotgun, a lethal double-barrel shotgun that very lucky players may acquire after slaying Nezarec, the Final God of Pain.

As is often the case with raids in Destiny 2, players are continuing to find out-of-the-way secrets and weird bugs throughout the Root of Nightmares activity. One player, using the name Fireboy759 on Reddit, shared a discovery of their own via a post on the site which shows off an A-posing Tormentor that won't react to players no matter what they do. This clearly glitched enemy will only spawn at the site of the raid's first secret chest when players backtrack to the room after loading into the second encounter. Fans have a number of different theories as to what the functional purpose of this Tormentor could be, but despite its apparent invulnerability, some players have actually managed to kill it by pushing it off the map through the use of ignitions.

While it's easy to assume that the textures on this Tormentor are bugged as well, the strange mix of colors applied to the entity is actually an intentional aspect of its design. Though it can easily be overlooked during combat, some variants of this Destiny 2 enemy feature the same gray color scheme which contrasts with that of the more common black and red version of the creature.

Considering the general buffs to difficulty in Destiny 2: Lightfall, it's come as a surprise to many that such endgame content was generally found less challenging even than certain patrol content in the game. These difficulty changes have been the subject of much contention among Destiny 2 fans, but regular patches and the promise of weapon rebalancing in the near future have brought hope that some of the community's biggest concerns in this regard are being listened to.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
