Highlights

  • Rare ships in Destiny 2 are a symbol of skill and dedication, earned through challenging content or legacy triumphs.
  • Unique ships like the Black Fleet and Hushed Syrinx are rewards for pre-orders and PvP excellence, representing the best loot.
  • War's Lament and other exclusive ships require mastering difficult raids, showcasing a player's dedication and accomplishment.

If players are to head into orbit and venture across the Sol system in Destiny 2, they best do so in style. As they embark on new activities with friends or strangers, they might see a ship that they fail to recognize, and they can behold a true rarity before them that only a select amount of players have the privilege of owning. Whether it’s through skill from endgame content, or embarking on journeys that have since been sunset, there are plenty of rare ships in Destiny 2.

These titles are earned after completing a series of triumphs that are either time-consuming or incredibly difficult for the average player.

The next time players see one of these ships listed, they might recognize that they are in the presence of a true collector. Regardless of Eververse status, endgame content, or legacy triumphs, these rewards look good and are only for those who dare to challenge themselves to claim the best loot.

6 Pyramidic Vessel

The Final Shape Pre-Order Bonus

Pyramidic Vessel

The Black Fleet is iconic in the simplicity of their design but complexity of motives. Led by the Witness as they take the fight to the Traveler to create the Final Shape, the Black Fleet can now be used for humanity if players are able to get their hands on one. It’s not entirely hard to get, but it is rare since the only requirement is to pre-order The Final Shape expansion.

Considering players can no longer pre-order the expansion since it has been released, the Black Fleet ship is going to be one of those ships that players will see rather frequently, without being able to get with their own hands, which is a shame, as it’s distinct and cool.

5 Hushed Syrinx

Possible Reward From A Flawless Chest In Trials Of Osiris

Hushed Syrinx

As a potential reward for a Flawless Chest in the Lighthouse after completing a passage card in Trials of Osiris, players will be able to tell who is the best at PvP. This is one of the many rewards of going Flawless in Trials of Osiris, and it’s no easy task, as even-skilled Guardians are put against each other in endless fights to create victors that are able to visit the Lighthouse, a location that many players have still not see with their own eyes.

Destiny 2: 16 Rarest Emblems

Some of the rarest emblems in Destiny 2 are sure to bring out the uniqueness in every player that has one.

PvP is always a hard one to crack, and many veterans and New Light players wouldn’t dare venture into Trials territory due to the competitive nature of pitting Guardian against Guardian. The Hushed Syrinx certainly looks cool thanks to its winged design and glowing pattern.

4 War’s Lament

Complete Crota's End On Master Difficulty

War’s Lament

Embarking on a raid is no easy task, and although veterans of Destiny (2014) might see Crota’s End as a piece of cake, they might be pleasantly surprised when they enter Crota’s kingdom in Destiny 2. The raid itself has more challenges thanks to a few reworks, and if players want to get War’s Lament, they need to complete the encounters on its hardest difficulty, which features alternative mechanics and hard-hitting enemies that will easily cause team wipes.

War’s Lament is not an easy ship to get, but it certainly is visually unique. It seems a lot smaller than other ships, almost like a hummingbird in its design. The ship is sharp, filled with green glows, and if players spot this one in the wild then they know that the Guardian inside fought hard to get it.

3 Queen of Hearts

Pre-Order Bonus For Forsaken

Queen of Hearts

Another pre-order bonus, the Queen of Hearts was available only to those who had the Forsaken expansion pre-ordered, making it a rarity to this day. Whilst players can get the weapons from Forsaken, the campaign has been sunset, so players will not be able to experience what awaits in the thrilling revenge story in the wake of Cayde-6’s murder. However, those who did pre-order can get a ship in pure homage to him.

Destiny 2: 7 Exotic Weapons That Could Use A Buff

While there are many incredible build-defining Exotic weapons in Destiny 2, there are some that could stand to be better.

The Queen of Hearts might be of a design that players have seen before, but its paint job and use of card aces on the thrusters make it distinct, and players who adore Cayde-6 will definitely want this one in their deck.

2 The Platinum Starling

Earn The Master Smith Triumph (Forge 100 Black Armory Weapons)

The Platinum Starling

The Platinum Starling was a secret ship introduced in Season of the Forge and required players to forge a total of 100 weapon frames in the Black Armory activity. It was a lengthy process, but a unique reward. Sadly, the Platinum Starling is no longer obtainable, since the Black Armory activity and the triumph associated with it have been sunset.

For those who see another player with this sleek-looking ship, just remember that they are a veteran of the game for sticking around during Season of the Forge, and for the fact that they had the time and dedication to grind out 100 weapon frames, which was no small ask.

1 Gift Of Cruelty

Complete Root of Nightmares on Master Difficulty

Gift Of Cruelty

Root of Nightmares might be seen as one of the easiest raids in Destiny 2, but that doesn’t mean the Master version is any easier. Gift of Cruelty is a unique reward for those brave enough to tackle Nezarec, the Final God of Pain on the hardest difficulty. The enemies certainly hit like trucks, and Nezarec’s already annoying AI will make this fight harder, as he can nearly insta-kill, and the enemies swarm on masse to stop ad-clearers and runners in their tracks.

Gift of Cruelty is also a great ship, as its spider-like design warrants something to be desired, especially for its theme of nightmares caused by Nezarec. It’s a distinct ship that deserves a good owner, and one that’s brave enough for the harshest of Destiny 2 raid content.
