Players in Destiny 2 aren't shy about using their guardian's appearance as a canvas to flex their creativity, and one player did just that to turn their Hunter into Guts, the legendary Black Swordsman and protagonist of Berserk. The game offers plenty of tools to give life to these creative concepts, from the various armor ornaments and transmog options to Destiny's wealth of shaders. Most of the time these can result in original creations channeling the universe's blend of fantasy and sci-fi, but some players choose to look outside the Destiny universe for inspiration, and that's exactly what one player did by turning to Berserk.

Destiny 2 is currently embroiled in Season of the Deep, sending players below the waves of the recently-returned moon of Titan in the ongoing battle against The Witness' forces. Guardians are tasked by Deputy Commander Sloane, who returned alongside Titan, to protect a mysterious creature that may hold key information about The Witness, where it has gone, and how the Vanguard may be able to stop it. Standing in players' way, though, are the force of the Hive god Xivu Arath, who is making her presence in the Sol System known more directly.

Such a conflict requires the aid of powerful warriors armed to the teeth, and there may be none more armed and dangerous in manga and anime than Berserk's Guts. Reddit user I_Balor_I is one player who believes in this and channeled the Black Swordsman, effectively turning their Hunter into Destiny 2's version of the demon-hunting mercenary. Balor uses a combination of shaders offering a mix of dark brown and grays, Iron Banner and world armor, and Eververse ornaments to bring their take on the Black Swordsman to life in-game.

The icing on the cake for some players, though, maybe the use of Izanagi's Burden and its Worldshaper ornament as a stand-in for Guts' massive sword, the Dragon Slayer. In Berserk, the sword is one only Guts is capable of wielding thanks to a lifetime spent either training or in battle as a mercenary, either alone or part of the Band of the Hawk. The Worldshaper may not be able to match the sheer size of the Dragon Slayer, which is roughly 40 inches long and weighs over 500 pounds, but it does capture the anime and manga better than any of Destiny 2's actual swords.

Balor's creation was met largely with praise by others on the DestinyFashion subreddit, most of whom complimented how well Balor was able to capture Guts before he donned his powerful Berserker armor. Some users did suggest a different headpiece could be used to better capture Guts, with one suggesting the Ketchkiller's Mask from Season of the Plunder may better capture the character's face.

Destiny 2 is currently available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
