Thanks to a newly discovered bug, Destiny 2 players are starting to lose emotes due to what many see as an invisible cap on how many can be owned at one time. Over the six years that Destiny 2 has been available, the popular shooter has been no stranger to bugs and glitches. Some have been relatively minor such as visual animation issues that were seen with some Hunter capes and cloaks, while others have managed to be highly publicized and game breaking such as the Hunter Strand super dealing crazy damage.

The exotic fusion rifle Telesto has been the cause of an alarmingly long list of issues over the years, though some updates that Destiny 2 has received have also had unexpected consequences. Certain exotic weapons and hear have been disabled for a set length of time while Bungie worked on a fix. In fact, just recently the One Thousand Voices exotic seems to be impacted by a damage bug when paired with the Radiant or Well of Radiance buff active. While not quite as alarming, one Destiny 2 player has seemingly come across another unintended issue with the game's UI.

In a new post on the Destiny 2 subReddit, a user named Its-Dooz seemingly confirmed that there seems to be a hard cap on the number of emotes a player can have unlocked. The discovery was accidentally stumbled upon by some of their friends called Snerv, Qip, BulkerGamer and Σχ ÅŸlαy3r, who saw that some of their green and blue rarity emotes were starting to disappear after hitting page 13 and 512 emotes in total. Thankfully, the missing emotes aren't deleted and can still be swapped through the Destiny 2 mobile app, but there appears to be a hard limit inside the game's menus.

Surprisingly, the official Bungie Support Team account took note of the post and provided a replay saying that this is actually an issue and not intended functionality that the studio is currently investigating. While that should put player's minds at ease, especially those that have been collecting emotes since the game's launch, the replies seemingly went in a different direction. Plenty thanked the responsiveness, but many also criticized the studio for how fast it seemed to jump on a minor issue like this when Destiny 2 currently has many other perceived issues like the framerate problem giving certain enemies like the Thresher ship the ability to one shot Destiny 2 players.

It's unknown if and when the framerate damage issue will be fixed, though it is something that has plagued Destiny 2 for a long time. Still, Bungie has proven that it does listen to fan feedback, with the most recent example being a hotfix update that increased the drop rate of exotic items inside Legendary and Master Lost Sectors. This has been a big sticking point with players since Lost Sectors became the only true way to farm newer exotic gear.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
