Over the years, Destiny 2 players have learned to expect big changes to many of the game's major systems with every expansion, as that's been the trend for every early release since Forsaken and up to Beyond Light. With The Witch Queen only four days away, players are eager to learn everything that's changing with the expansion and everything that's being introduced alongside it and its first Season, Season of the Risen. While Bungie did list some changes to Destiny 2's Void subclasses with a preview of the Void 3.0 update, many things are still missing.

Yesterday's TWAB post shed some light on the changes made to Destiny 2's Gambit with The Witch Queen and Season 16, which make the game mode more akin to Trials of Osiris after its recent rework. This entails a plethora of changes made to how Gambit works and what players can do while playing it, also addressing part of the feedback from the community about major issues with the game mode. Something that has changed quite a bit over the years since the early days of Destiny 2 is the Eververse, but that trend is not to continue.

In the recent Gambit TWAB, Bungie also stated that there will be no changes made to the Eververse store in any capacity when The Witch Queen is finally released. This means that there will be no tweaks to how players can currently acquire Bright Dust, for example, which is only available through the Season Pass, through Seasonal Challenges, and through repeatable bounties from Destiny 2's vendors. While this is not necessarily a bad thing, it also means that no tweaks are being made to Shaders' Bright Dust prices, which is something players have repeatedly asked for.

In fact, Shaders went from 40 Bright Dust in Year 1 to the current prices of 300 Bright Dust per Shader, which is a lot more - almost 8 times as much. It's also worth noting that this is the last week players can earn 700 free Bright Dust by collecting it from the in-game store, which is something Bungie did to celebrate its 30th Anniversary Pack's release. More cosmetic items will be released, but players shouldn't expect any changes to Silver being earned through Season Passes either, which is something that they have been asking for.

With several new Exotics coming with Destiny 2's The Witch Queen, it's very likely that the Eververse store will feature a few Exotic Ornaments for the new gear. These releases always cost Silver when they come out, but players can expect to get them later in the Season for free when they go up for sale for Bright Dust, instead.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
