With the release of Lightfall just on the horizon, players have been getting a better look at what awaits them in Destiny 2's next major expansion including the new 6-player activity and raid for guardians to test their mettle in. Bungie has been hinting since Lightfall's reveal the city of Neomuna will have plenty for players to do, whether it is learning the powers of Strand or halting the invasion by Emperor Calus' Shadow Legion. The new activity hints the Legion, along with the Vex, will be part of it while the studio only gives the smallest possible hint as to what the new raid could entail.

Lightfall is the next major expansion for Destiny 2 and will see guardians venture to Neptune to explore Neomuna, a hidden metropolis that has remained untouched by the previous conflicts engulfing the rest of the Sol System. However, its discovery by The Witness and his newest disciple, Calus, will prompt players to join Neomuna's defenders, the Cloudstriders, in pushing back the invasion and keeping The Witness from its goals. Players will also be able to unleash Strand, a new Darkness power at their disposal in the battle to save Neomuna and the Sol System.

In terms of activities, players got a first taste of what they will be able to do in Lightfall thanks to a revamp to the expansion's official page on Bungie's website. The new 6-player match-made activity, titled Terminal Overload, hints it will play into the larger conflict engulfing Neomuna and efforts to save the city from the ongoing invasion. Players can expect to battle both Shadow Legion and Vex forces in the activity, though there is no more information provided at the time of this writing.

The raid's description, by comparison, offers even less information than the short summary for Terminal Overload. Bungie's summary hints at an "ancient threat growing at our doorstep," suggesting the raid's location may not be too far removed from The Last City. It doesn't offer much more information about what it will entail, although this isn't surprising as Bungie has historically been very secretive when it comes to raids ahead of the day-one raid race.

Given the list of foes awaiting players on Neomuna, Bungie isn't lacking in choice when it comes to finding a compelling raid boss to build it around. Players could argue Emperor Calus is the most obvious choice due to his new status as a disciple of The Witness and history with players going back to the launch of Destiny 2. However, Bungie could always surprise players with a new Vex foe to combat or another servant of The Witness to challenge players' abilities when it goes live.

Destiny 2 is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
