The Mechabre quickly made a name for itself as one of the best PvP sniper rifles in Destiny 2 back when it was first added in 2022's Festival of the Lost. The following year, it received a refreshed pool of perks that features a couple of new options that open up some interesting combinations for both PvE and PvP.

Bungie reveals two exotic armor pieces that are getting major adjustments when the big midseason update arrives for Destiny 2.

Players who are looking for a new Arc Sniper Rifle in Destiny 2 have a lot to be excited about with the new Mechabre. Here are the best rolls that this weapon can drop with, as well as some notes on its newly added perks.

Destiny 2 Mechabre God Rolls

A PvE-focused roll for the Mechabre in Destiny 2

Mechabre is an Aggressive Frame Sniper Rifle that sports high damage and low overall handling. While it may feel sluggish by default, it does have a number of perks that help it overcome that weakness. With that said, the third and fourth column perks on this weapon greatly affect its performance — there are specific rolls that make this gun better in PvE and ones that improve its reliability in PvP.

Starting with the PvE side of things, players have a number of good fourth-column perks to farm for. Voltshot is a decent choice for damaging Majors/Champions while simultaneously clearing chaff, though this does require players to first score a kill and reload immediately after. Those who are looking for pure damage buffs should look for a Mechabre with Vorpal Weapon or High Ground instead.

High Ground grants a 20% weapon damage bonus as long as players are standing at least one meter above the ground. Although this buff is situational, players can make their own high ground by standing on top of a Stasis crystal. Regardless of what damage perk players get, try to use it with Alloy Magazine and Clown Cartridge to larger magazines and quicker reloads.

For PvP, there are two potential god rolls for the Mechabre:

  • God Roll 1: Fluted Barrel, Accurized Rounds, Keep Away, Discord
  • God Roll 2: Fluted Barrel, Accurized Rounds, Snapshot Sights, Opening Shot

Snapshot Sights and Opening Shot are S-tier perks for Sniper Rifles in Destiny 2. The former increases ADS speed while Opening Shot boosts range and accuracy. Many other sniper rifles have this perk combo, and all of them perform very well in the hands of a skilled sniper.

Keep Away and Discord achieve the same effect as the god roll above, but it also comes with the benefit of increased handling and airborne effectiveness. Both perks provide accuracy bonuses, but Discord requires a kill to activate, and Keep Away only works if there are no nearby enemies. It's a worthy alternative to the classic Snapshot/Opening Shot combo, but it will force players to adapt to its playstyle.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
