September 9, 2014 was a historic day for Bungie as the studio released Destiny. In terms of content, the game got off to a rocky start, but players fell in love with the lore and gameplay mechanics, and Bungie managed to improve the game with each new expansion. Destiny 2 was released in 2017, and although it has its own set of issues, it has managed to become one of the most popular FPS MMOs in the world.

Destiny 2 has the same feel as the original game, and many of the characters and story threads have carried over as well. Many items from the original game, whether they be weapons or armor, have found their way into the sequel, but there are still quite a few exceptions that need to appear.

9 Ice Breaker

Icebreaker-Exotic Sniper Rifle

Destiny 2 players have obtained quite a few trace rifles over the course of the game's lifespan, but they've also gotten their hands on various sniper rifles. The Black Hammer was a legendary sniper rifle from Destiny's Crota's End raid, and it was brought back as the Whisper of the Worm exotic.

Ice Breaker is another coveted sniper rifle from the original game, and so far, Bungie hasn't teased its return. This exotic was a powerful solar weapon that caused slain enemies to combust, which in turn damaged other nearby enemies. Ice Breaker's best feature, however, is the fact that its ammo regenerates over time.

8 Bones Of Eao

Bones Of Eao-Exotic Hunter Leg Armor

Hunter is the most played class because they are incredibly versatile in PVE and PVP, and most of their best builds are centered around specific exotics. In Destiny'sHouse of Wolves expansion, Hunters were able to obtain a piece of exotic leg armor called, Bones of Eao, which increased the amount of heavy ammo a player could carry.

Its best perk was called Not Bound By Law, which upgraded the double jump into a triple jump. In Destiny 2, every Hunter can pick triple jump if they want to, which explains why Bungie hasn't brought this exotic back. but they still can as long as they're willing to give Hunters a quadruple jump.

7 The Ram

The Ram-Warlock Exotic Helmet

There are plenty of decent Warlock PVE builds, and in the original Destiny, quite a few revolved around The Ram. This exotic helmet came with House of Wolves, and it provided health regeneration whenever a player picked up orbs. Super energy was also gained after each melee kill.

It also offered lifesteal for every Voidwalker melee, but this perk is now part of Destiny 2's Karnstein Armlets. To this day, The Ram is one of the best looking Warlock helmets, and if Bungie does not want to bring it back with new perks, they should at least bring it back as an ornament for The Stag.

6 The Taikonaut

The Taikonaut-Exotic Titan Helmet

When Gjallarhorn returns, it will be a welcomed addition to the current rocket launcher meta. Veterans of the first game have wanted this exotic rocket launcher back for years, and that is because it does a massive amount of damage with its tracking rounds.

The Taikonaut has a perk called Air Traffic Control, which gives all rocket launchers tracking. This is very useful and would instantly make this helmet highly sought-after in Destiny 2. It also gave all heavy weapons radar while zooming.

5 Voidfang Vestments

Voidfang Vestiments-Warlock Exotic Chest Piece

Axion Bolt may not be the best Warlock grenade in Destiny 2, but it was pretty useful in the original game, especially when the player had Voidfang Vestments equipped. This exotic chest piece was a random drop in the original game, and as the name suggests, it was made for the Voidwalker subclass.

It came with the Hungering Void perk, which allowed players to respawn with a fully charged grenade. This was a very useful perk in PVP. Axion Bolt received a bit of an upgrade too, as the exotic allowed the grenade to spawn an extra seeker, which was also good in PVP.

4 Don't Touch Me

Don't Touch Me-Hunter Exotic Gloves

Nightstalker is arguably the most useful Hunter subclass, and Way of the Pathfinder is especially helpful in tougher activities like raids. This is because the Vanish in Smoke perk allows Hunters to throw a smoke bomb that makes them and their allies invisible for a short time.

Invisibility is a nice thing to have, especially during combat, which is why the Don't Touch Me exotic was so helpful. When these gauntlets were equipped, Hunters were able to go invisible for a short amount of time when they were hit by an enemy melee attack. This came in handy when Hunters were surrounded by ads.

3 The Exotic Swords From The Taken King Expansion

Bolt-Caster-Exotic Sword

The glaive is a new weapon that will be introduced in The Witch Queen, and players will have to construct their first one. Weapon crafting is a nice feature, but it's not the first time players got to forge a powerful weapon. The Taken King expansion allowed players to construct an exotic sword, and it was a choice between the Bolt-Caster, Raze-Lighter, and Dark-Drinker.

These swords deal either Arc, Solar, or Void damage, but the guard feature really stood out. For example, the Bolt-Caster was not very good at blocking Arc damage, but it greatly reduced Solar and Void damage. These swords would be a nice addition to the weapon pool, but Bungie would need to give each sword a unique perk.

2 Twilight Garrison

Twilight Garrison-Titan Chest Piece

Aside from Shoulder Charge and Thundercrash, Titans do not have much mobility, which is why Twilight Garrison continues to be one of the most requested exotics. This chest piece was especially popular in PVP because of its Tactical Air Support perk, which allowed a Titan to evade an attack while they were in the air.

This item could allow Titans to evade a shot from weapons like Gjallarhorn, Truth, Eyes of Tomorrow, and Jötunn. If timed properly, a Titan could then slam into the enemy who fired the projectile at them in the first place.

1 Touch Of Malice

Touch Of Malice-Exotic Scout Rifle

There are already plenty of scout rifles in Destiny 2, but Bungie will surely add more with The Witch Queen, and the upcoming expansion would be the perfect time to bring back Touch of Malice. Oryx is still the strongest Hive in the series, and this exotic could only be obtained once he was defeated.

This rifle did an impressive amount of damage with its final round since it kept regenerating at the cost of the wielder's health. The gun would also become more accurate as the wielder's health got lower. Thanks to Healing Wells, this scout rifle would be deadly in a new Raid or Grandmaster Nightfall.
