With The Witch Queen finally here and a brand-new season at hand, players will want to quickly rank up in terms of XP. XP in Destiny 2 is important mainly because it allows players to access various rewards and buffs found in the seasonal pass, but it also counts towards power level boosts in the seasonal artifact.

And since power level is very important in terms of what activities players can do and how easy those activities are, XP should be everyone's top priority coming into the new expansion and the new season. The more players unlock their seasonal pass, the more XP they will also earn as they unlock XP boosts included in the pass. These are currently the best, known ways to earn XP fast in Destiny 2's Season of the Risen.

Cash In Season 15 Bounties

While it's too late to save and complete bounties for Season 15, players who successfully stockpiled their XP at the end of the last season will have a significantly easier start. Not only will they unlock most likely at least the first 7 levels of the seasonal pass, but they will also very quickly gain access to the seasonal artifact's powerful mods.

Grab Bounties For Every Activity

The primary way to grind in Destiny 2 has always been activity completions and bounties. It's tedious, but it holds true even in season 16. With new activities, players will also gain access to brand-new bounties. These are nothing to scoff at, so no matter what players do end up doing, they should always be carrying bounties.

Do Public Events & Patrols In The Throne World

In relation to new activities, the Throne World is a great place to start grinding for them and for XP and power levels through gear all at the same time. Simply head over to Fynch, the local bounty vendor, and make sure to grab his repeatable bounties as often as possible.

The bounties can also be completed during the campaign, so even if players aren't on patrol, they can still work on completing Fynch's bounties at the same time. Multitasking is key when it comes to grinding for things in Destiny 2.

Prioritize XP++ Bounties

Destiny 2 Starhorse Bounty

Another detail to note for bounties in Destiny 2, especially for players who are tight on Glimmer, is the amount of XP received. Players should always prioritize bounties that have a higher XP output. Any bounties with the XP++ reward are therefore a top priority.

This includes Moon bounties from the Lectern and Eris Morn, Starhorse bounties for Dares of Eternity, Cosmodrome bounties from Shaw Han, and a few bounties found at Variks' place over at Europa. Make sure to grab these as soon as possible, as these will give players most of the XP juice.

Play In A Fireteam For The Shared Wisdom Buff

Destiny 2 Fireteam In Throne World Orbit

Bungie rewards players significantly for playing in a group, so no matter what activity players choose to take on when they finally load up The Witch Queen, they should make sure they have a fireteam to back them up.

The reason for this is the powerful Shared Wisdom buff. Players will enjoy a greater XP gain whenever they're in a fireteam together. Those who don't have any friends to play with can also try to find other solo players in Bungie's LFG service.

Complete Seasonal Weekly Challenges

Destiny 2 Seasonal Challenges For Season Of The Risen

With a new season comes new challenges as well, and the rewards for these can be quite hefty in terms of XP. In the first week, one of the challenges is to complete Gambit matches, which rewards players with XP++. This is a relatively easy challenge to complete as well.

Completing Evidence Board Investigations on Mars will also reward XP++ for the first week, so even though the campaign can be very distracting, players should take some time to work on Ikora's evidence board.

Other challenges that reward XP+ include killing Hive enemies in Strikes, which players will almost certainly complete during the campaign as they hop into The Lightblade strike, and using mid-range weapons like Auto Rifles and Hand Cannons while inside Savathun's throne world.

Play The Legendary Campaign On All Characters

Bungie has already mentioned that in terms of grinding for power levels, the Legendary difficulty of the campaign is absolutely ideal. The same goes for XP as well, since encounters will be significantly tougher and players will receive double rewards at the end of any checkpoint encounters.

Moreover, players should look to complete The Witch Queen Legendary campaign on all characters. That way, they will enjoy a triple boost, and triple loot as well. Those who have yet to create secondary characters should absolutely do so for this expansion if they want to get ahead of things.

Destiny 2: The Witch Queen is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
