The Lightfall DLC has arrived in Destiny 2, and with it comes a brand new element, Strand. Not only did Guardians gain a brand new subclass, but they also gained access to a new suite of Strand weapons, such as the Perpetualis Auto Rifle.

However, some players need clarification on correctly obtaining this unique new weapon. This guide will help Destiny 2 players find and get the Perpetualis Auto Rifle & determine the God Roll for it.

How To Get The Perpetualis Auto Rifle

For the short and sweet answer, the Perpetualis Auto Rifle can only be earned from Season of Defiance activities. Specifically, players will need to hop into Defiant Battlegrounds activity located in the Helm for a chance at obtaining the gun. Completing a Defiant Battleground will reward Guardians with a new seasonal weapon or armor, so the likelihood of them getting the gun on the first run is slim.

That said, the weapon will eventually drop after a few runs, as the more completions the Guardian receives, the more likely they are to obtain loot they didn't previously have. After getting the gun at least once, players can head back to the Helm, where they can then focus for the weapon via the War Table using Defiant Engrams. Defiant Engrams are earned by completing Defiant Battlegrounds. Focusing for the gun will allow the player to secure the roll they want for the gun eventually.

What Is The God Roll For The Perpetualis?

What really helps the Perpetualis the most is its fantastic perk pool for PvE and PvP activities. No matter the situation, this weapon will always be a solid option, even for endgame activities like raids or competitive PvP.

For PvE, the God Roll players should be looking for is Zen Moment and Hatchling. Zen Moment will increase the gun's stability the longer the trigger is held, while Hatchling will create Threadlings after securing a kill (there is a cooldown between each Threadling spawn). This combo is terrific for a Strand Warlock build, as they specialize in creating Threadlings, and with the proper setup, they can make a near-infinite amount of them at will.

For PvP, Zen Moment and Target Lock will far and away be the best options. Target Lock increases the weapon's damage the longer it is held on an enemy, and with Zen Moment increasing the gun's stability, Perpetualis essentially becomes a laser beam. While it, unfortunately, cannot beat its brother in arms, The Immortal, at close combat, at medium-to-longer ranges, Perpetualis is a great option to use in PvP.

As far as Barrel, Magazine, and Masterwork go, anything that can increase the weapon's range will be a good choice, as more range is always helpful, no matter the activity. Thus, the best options will be Arrowhead Brake for the Barrel, Accurized Rounds for Magazine, and a Range Masterwork.

Destiny 2 is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
