The Root of Nightmares raid in Destiny 2 features several powerful weapons for Guardians to collect, including some brand-new Strand element guns. One of which includes the new Heavy Grenade Launcher, Koraxis's Distress.

However, some players need clarification on how to acquire it properly. This guide will help Destiny 2 players find and obtain the Koraxis's Distress Grenade Launcher & determine what the God Roll for it is.

How To Get Koraxis's Distress

Thankfully, unlike the other Root of Nightmares raid weapons, the Koraxis's Distress is much easier to obtain. Players can acquire the gun by completing any encounter in the raid rather than a specific one. That said, given how many weapons and armor are featured throughout, it doesn't mean the player is "guaranteed" to get it by completing an encounter, but they have a higher chance of earning it than the other rewards.

For players looking to earn the gun specifically, it would be a good idea to gather a team and farm the first encounter of the raid, Cataclysm. Farming this encounter will grant the highest chance of acquiring the weapon, as only a few rewards are available, making it much easier than farming the rest of the raid, where there is more loot in each.

With the knowledge of how to obtain the gun acquired, it's time to discuss the God Rolls players should be looking for.

Since the Koraxis's Distress is a Heavy Grenade Launcher, the likelihood of a player using it in PvP activities is slim, and its perk pool isn't good for them. That said, it has one combo to work with for players who want to use it in PvP. The PvP God Roll Guardians should look for is Impulse Amplifier and Wellspring. Impulse Amplifier massively increases the projectile velocity (35% to be exact), while Wellspring grants ability energy on each kill secured with the weapon. It's not the "best" selection for a Heavy Grenade Launcher. Still, Impulse Amplifier will significantly help the weapon get kills more often while also granting some extra ability energy thanks to Wellspring.

On the other hand, Koraxis's Distress has an abundance of great PvE perks to work with that it's hard to say for sure what the proper "God Roll" for it is. That said, the most commonly used perks for this weapon are Reconstruction and Hatchling. Reconstruction will automatically reload and overflow the magazine from reserves after being stowed for some time, and Hatchling will create a Threadling on every other kill. A gun that reloads itself and makes minions to defeat incoming enemies for the player is a top-tier option for sure.

Regarding Barrel, Magazine, and Masterwork, players should look for perks that increase the weapon's damage and blast radius. With that in mind, they should look for Volatile Launch for the Barrel, Spike Grenades for the Magazine, and a Blast Radius Masterwork.

Players looking to acquire the Adept version of the Koraxis's Distress must complete the All Hands challenge on Master difficulty for it to drop.

Destiny 2 is currently available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
