Season 22 of Destiny 2 is the third Season of Year 6. This is the point in which the gap between Lightfalland The Final Shape will be connected (narratively speaking). At the end of the previous season, Destiny 2 players learned that in order to pursue the Witness they will need the help of Savathun. But before that, Xivu Arath must be dealt with once and for all.

With the release of a new Season, a whole new set of weapons and armor have been added to the game. To make the most of their time in the new seasonal activities, players will want to track down the new Witch's Key before they focus on grinding too much for any of the new loot.

How to Get Witch's Key

Witch's Key is obtained by completing any activity in the game. Just like with the Defiant Key, Deep Dive Key, and Salvage Key, these items have a lower drop rate. The tradeoff, however, is that players do not need to use them in order to advance the seasonal story or get loot in both Altars of Summoning and Savathun's Spire. Aside from being obtained as a random drop, Witch's Key can also be acquired by leveling up the Season Pass (Ranks 2, 12, 52, and 92) and also by ranking up with the Ritual Table in the H.E.L.M.

What is the Witch's Key Used For?

For players who have been active these past couple of Seasons of Destiny 2, they will be pleased to hear that the Witch's Key is very similar (if not exactly the same) as other similar seasonal currencies. Just like with the Defiant Key and the Deep Dive Key, Witch's Key is an optional item that allows players to make the most out of their time doing the new activities added in Season 22.

As in previous Seasons, the Witch's Key will significantly improve the rewards that players obtain when looting chests at the end of the Altars of Summoning and Savathun's Spire activities. Unlike Season 21, there is not a unique key for each activity. That way, players only have to worry about getting one type of key instead of two. When using a Witch's Key, players can expect to get significantly more reputation for the Ritual Table, more offerings, and also more Witch's Engrams which can be used to eventually unlock crafting for the new seasonal weapons.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
