In Destiny 2, Exotics can add a great deal of flavor to the game while also supporting builds that players come up with. While many Exotic armor pieces can be used on any subclass, there are some that only provide benefits to certain subclass abilities. Since there are Exotics that synergize with Stasis, it should come as no surprise that the same happened with Strand as well.

Each of the three classes get a piece of Exotic armor of their own. Titans get Abeyant Leap, Hunters get Cyrtarachne's Facade, and Warlocks get Swarmers. Here is how Destiny 2 players can get Swarmers along with what they do.

How to Get Swarmers

Swarmers is an Exotic Leg Armor for Warlocks. This new Exotic can be obtained several ways. The first method is to complete the Legendary campaign. Once all missions have been beaten, Destiny 2 players cn talk to Nimbus to get a full set of 1770 Armor and Weapons. In addition to that, players also get to choose between two Exotics. The other method is by getting them when Exotic Leg Armor has a chance of dropping in Legend or Master Lost Sectors when completed solo.

The problem with Legend and Master Lost Sectors is that the drop rate for Exotics is very low. It is quite possible for players to go through dozens of attempts and never get anything more than a few Enhancement Cores. As if the low drop rate and lack of rewards wasn't discouraging enough, the Power level requirement for Legend and Master Lost Sectors is high. Legend Lost Sectors are set to 1830 Power while Master Lost Sectors are set to 1840 Power.

Excluding the Power boost from the artifact, the highest Power that players can achieve at present is 1810. As such, it will be extremely difficult (if not impossible) for most players to reliably farm Legend and Master Lost Sectors for Exotics. So the best method right now for getting Swarmers is for players to complete the Legendary campaign as a Warlock.

Swarmers Exotic Perk Explained

Players may be wondering what exactly Swarmers do for Warlocks when they have Strand equipped. When destroying a Tangle, it will generate a Threadling for the player that has Swarmers equipped. On top of that, Swarmers will cause Threadlings to inflict the Unravel debuff onto targets that they damage. Unravel causes a target to launch projectiles toward nearby targets when they take additional damage.

On top of that, when a target with Unravel dies they turn into a Tangle which can then be destroyed and spawn a Threadling for the Warlock. So with these boots, players can spawn Threadlings more regularly and have more outgoing damage on anything that they are fighting. This is especially useful in PvE in scenarios where there are lots of targets for the Threadlings to attack and spread Unravel among packs of enemies. There are many useful Exotics for Warlocks in Destiny 2, and Swarmers are a good choice if players can get them.

Destiny 2 is available now on Epic Games Store, PS4, PS5, Steam, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
