With every new dungeon of Destiny 2, a new Exotic also enters the game. This time, for Season of the Seraph's dungeon, Spire of the Watcher, players have the chance of acquiring the Exotic Solar combat bow, Hierarchy of Needs.

The bow also comes with a catalyst, which needs to be acquired separately and will require quite a bit of farming for players to fully upgrade before it can be slotted into the Hierarchy of Needs bow. Without further ado, here's how players can get the Hierarchy of Needs catalyst in Destiny 2 and what it does.

Getting The Hierarchy of Needs Exotic Combat Bow

Destiny 2 Hierarchy Of Needs Exotic Bow

To get the Hierarchy of Needs bow in Destiny 2, players will need to play the Spire of the Watcher dungeon, which is a new Vex-themed dungeon located on Mars. This is available to those who have bought the whole year of The Witch Queen, or players who have bought the dungeon pass.

Before starting, speak with Ikora in the Tower, who will give players a special quest for the dungeon. The dungeon comes with unique Triumphs and a seal, and completing certain Triumphs will increase the player's chances of earning the Hierarchy of Needs bow. The Exotic is farmable from the boss encounter.

Complete the following Triumphs to receive an increased chance for the bow to drop:

  • The Magnificent One: Fully complete every encounter solo.
  • Devil In The Details:Find all Devilish recordings.
  • Untarnished Grit: Fully complete every encounter solo—without a single death.
  • Mind Vexplosion: Fully complete every encounter without a single death.
  • Resident Vexpert: Fully complete every encounter on Master difficulty.

How To Get The Hierarchy Of Needs Catalyst

Destiny 2 Spire of The Watcher Dungeon Entry

Once players have the bow itself, they can receive the catalyst for it as well. Unlike in Duality where players had to go through the entire dungeon hunting down secret enemies, this time, players simply need to complete the Spire of the Watcher dungeon on Master difficulty once for the catalyst to drop.

Completing the dungeon on Master difficulty is no easy task, especially early on in the season. It's recommended that players up their light before undertaking this task, as the light level for the Master difficulty is 1610. Champions will be in abundance, along with shielded combatants, and Overload champions in particular seem to be abundant, as every Minotaur that needs to be killed for the Arctrician buff is an Overload.

After acquiring the catalyst, players will have to upgrade it by scoring kills with the Hierarchy of Needs bow. Light.GGplaces the number of kills at 700, but given that the bow has infinite ammo as a primary, this shouldn't take too long to farm provided players keep the bow equipped as often as possible.

What The Hierarchy Of Needs Catalyst Does

Destiny 2 Hierarchy Of Needs

Hierarchy of Needs charges a Guidance Ring when players score final blows. Once the charge is complete they can shoot out this ring, and firing through it will instead fire seeking projectiles that will deal increased damage.

With the catalyst, deploying the Guidance Ring, and dealing damage through it provides additional buffs. The draw time of the bow and its reload speed are both improved for a brief period of time.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
