One of the most interesting additions to Destiny 2 over the years is the H.E.L.M., which stands for Hub for Emergency Logistics and Maneuvers, and it is a Vanguard outpost within the Last City's Tower. The H.E.L.M. was one of the locations introduced in Season of the Chosen as part of its storyline, where players could meet with Osiris, Crow, and Lord Saladin to discuss the plans and the course of action to tackle the diplomatic crisis with Caiatl, leader of the Cabal.

The H.E.L.M. got bigger in time, and two more wings were added to it to allow players to speak with Mithrax's Servitor for Season of the Splicer and to Mara Sov and Petra Venj for Season of the Lost. Another addition that made the H.E.L.M. a useful place to visit is the Prismatic Recaster, where Destiny 2 players can decipher Umbral Engrams and manipulate the outcome through several options and seasonal currency. However, all of this seems to be going away when The Witch Queen expansion is released in February of next year, according to Bungie's own website and information on the Destiny Content Vault.

Recently, Bungie released a full version of the Destiny Content Vault guide to help players prepare for the upcoming changes when The Witch Queen drops. While many players knew that the Tangled Shore and the Forsaken campaign were going away, along with missions like Harbinger and Presage, others were oblivious to the fact that the H.E.L.M. would change as a result. The new guide specifically mentions all of the locations, vendors, and quests that will be vaulted at the beginning of Year 5, and they include the Umbral Decoder, the Prismatic Recaster, the Splicer Servitor, and the Wayfinder Compass - as well as Mara Sov's Chambers.

There is no mention of the War Table from Season of the Chosen, and it's possible that it's going to stay because of Battlegrounds being added to Destiny 2's Strike playlist. And yet, everything else that makes the H.E.L.M. what it is nowadays will be gone for good in February. The weirdest things to go are the Umbral Decoder and the Prismatic Recaster, which poses the question as to what will happen to Umbral Engrams moving forward.

The fact that the H.E.L.M. will lose all its main elements is concerning for its future, as it's not impossible that Bungie will decide to vault it as well. Even Destiny 2's Dares of Eternity might be vaulted in the future, based on Xur's dialogue when players reach Rank 16 and start the Forerunner catalyst quest, and it's unclear if anything is set to stay in the game apart from the Tower, at this point.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
