Bungie will be nerfing several subclass abilities in Destiny 2 with the launch of Season of the Wish, including healing, Woven Mail, and Well of Radiance. The studio plans on balancing overall player survivability as part of its continued long-term commitment to maintaining challenging content in Destiny 2.

Each season of Destiny 2 brings a number of sweeping changes to weapons and abilities in the sandbox, and many changes will arrive in Season of Wish, the 23rd and last season in Destiny 2's seasonal model. In Season of the Wish, Destiny 2 players return to Forsaken's Dreaming City after discovering a hidden egg of Riven, the Ahamkara Wish Dragon. Players will have access to new gear, weapons, and activities as the build-up towards The Final Shape continues. Several balance and gameplay changes will be made with Season of the Wish's launch, including overhauls to over a dozen underperforming Exotics.

Destiny 2 Heavily Nerfing Two Titan Subclasses

Bungie will be heavily nerfing two popular Titan subclasses in Destiny 2 with the imminent launch of Season of the Witch this month.

Bungie's November 22 "This Week in Destiny" blog post confirms that healing, Woven Mail, Devour, Well of Radiance, and Ward of Dawn will be nerfed in Destiny 2 Season of the Wish. The healing rate given by Restoration will be reduced in PvE and PvP by roughly 50%, and Woven Mail's damage resistance will be nerfed from 55% to 45%. Since Devour is closely linked to improved survivability for the Voidwalker Warlock subclass, Bungie is reducing the ability's healing amount from a full heal to 100 HP unless Feed the Void is active. Feed the Void receives a few notable buffs with increased grenade energy regeneration with Devour kills and improved Devour heals. Bungie will gauge player feedback for these changes and apply further adjustments in Season of the Wish.

Destiny 2 Heavily Nerfing Two Titan Subclasses

The Dawnblade Warlock's Well of Radiance and Sentinel Titan's Ward of Dawn Super abilities will receive cooldown nerfs, raising the base cooldown time from 417 seconds to 455 seconds. According to Bungie, Well of Radiance and Ward of Dawn's base cooldown time will now match some of the burst Supers in Destiny 2, including Chaos Reach and Blade Barrage. Bungie will continue to evaluate Well of Radiance and Ward of Dawn over time since the developers believe these Supers behave too similarly in the game in its current state.

Destiny 2 players can expect major Stasis changes in Season of the Wish, so the shake-up extends to multiple elements and subclasses. Survivability appears to be a major factor behind many of the changes coming soon to Destiny 2, and even more nerfs and buffs will likely be made before the release of The Final Shape expansion.
