Bungie releases a new Destiny 2 trailer focusing on the latest dungeon in Season 21 called Ghosts of the Deep. Overall, it's been a very busy week for Bungie as the company not only took part in Sony's PlayStation Showcase event to debut Destiny 2's The Final Shape expansion and the revival of Marathon, but Season of the Deep also officially launched for players in game. Focusing on Saturn's moon Titan, players have been venturing under the Methane Ocean in new activities like Salvage and Deep Dive.

Water is a definite theme in Destiny 2 Season 21 with activities that let players explore underwater, but also with a new activity centered around fishing at locations across various destinations. With the Root of Nightmares raid having recently launched last season, Destiny 2 fans were made away that Season 21 would instead offer players a new dungeon activity, joining the likes of recent additions like Spire of the Watcher and Duality. With the first Friday of Season 21 now here, Bungie has finally revealed many of the details players can expect to see when they jump in.

Thanks to a new trailer, Destiny 2 players will be able to check out the latest dungeon called Ghosts of the Deep. Once again taking place on Titan, the short teaser trailer seems to showcase a Hive outpost located under the methane waves. The trailer, which shows fireteams going up against Hive and a few taken enemies, is narrated by Destiny 2's Hive God of War Xivu Arath, an enemy which has been largely stayed in the background, but never taking center stage like Calus or Savathun.

In addition to a fully voiced Xivu Arath, the trailer also seems to confirm the return of Lucent Hive lightbearers, an enemy type that dominated the Witch Queen expansion campaign and corresponding seasons. While they've largely gone missing in recent times, seemingly having been replaced by Tormentors, the Lucent Hive are those who can utilize the light, giving them abilities and supers that are reminiscent of Guardians.

For now, the type of loot that will be available inside this dungeon isn't know including some of the weapons that could potentially drop from the various encounters. As such, it's hard to know how they'll place within the current list of Destiny 2 Season of the Deep weapons like the Distant Pull sniper or Different Times pulse rifle. One thing that is likely, is that the Ghosts of the Deep weapons will likely have a different visual style than the Taken inspired set.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
