As part of its 30th anniversary, Bungie has released a lot of new content into Destiny 2. This new content has included activities, dungeons, and gear. One of the most sought-after items from this addition to the game is the Hero of Ages legendary sword.

Hero of Ages Stats and Perks

Each of the new weapons are powerful in their own right, but the Hero of Ages sword can be especially useful. Heavy attacks will fire a powerful projectile, and rapidly hitting targets will allow the weapon to do more damage. The weapon can drop with many random perks, like all the other legendary weapons in Destiny 2, and some of them are very valuable to players. The least common perk is 'tempered edge,' which gives the weapon boosts to both damage and ammo. More common perks include 'hungry edge,' which increases only sword ammo.

How to Get the Hero of Ages Legendary Sword

destiny 2 power scaling

The Hero of Ages sword can be acquired by completing the new dungeon in Destiny 2, The Grasp of Avarice. The dungeon features many bosses and ends with a chest that players can plunder. The chest will randomly award players weapons, one of which is the Hero of Ages sword. The 1000-Yard Stare sniper, the Matador 64 shotgun, and the Eyasluna hand cannon are other possible weapons.

The sword is not the first weapon in Destiny to fire a strong projectile. But it has a respectable magazine and can deal a lot of damage if players acquire it with damage increasing perks. It also can't be required from legendary Collections, so once players have it, if they want another version or destroy it, the only way to get another version of the weapon is to replay The Grasp of Avarice.

Hero of Ages is a good weapon to take into higher-level Destiny encounters. It feels good to use, can be used at range, and can be shockingly helpful when players take advantage of damage increases. While weapons in Destiny 2 can typically be used no matter the perks, this is an item that players should take time to get the right way. With the 'correct' perks, it can be a true asset to arsenals.

Overall, the Hero of Ages sword is a good addition to Destiny 2. It does what it's meant to do, which is to serve as a middle-of-the-road weapon that can possibly drop with even more successful perks. This sword isn't a bad place to start for players looking for a new, powerful weapon to add to their inventories. Indeed, there are plenty of options now with new Dawning content available, but the Hero of Ages sword is still one that should be seriously considered.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
