New features will be introduced into Destiny 2 that will enable players to easily join teams for raids and dungeons. During the recent Destiny 2 livestream, Bungie announced a host of new features coming to the game.

As a precursor to The Final Shape, Destiny 2's Season of the Witch is underway, laying the groundwork for the next expansion. Gamers will also see the next raid, Crota’s End, released in September. Raids have been a part of the franchise since the original game, but they usually require a team of highly dedicated players to complete. Luckily, Bungie will be making it easier for Destiny 2 players to find teammates for raids.

Starting with the as-of-yet-unnamed Season 23 in November, players will be able to search and create their own Fireteams with the new Fireteam Finder application. This will allow gamers to join random teams if they don’t have their usual squad available to them. It will also be useful for newcomers and solo players to Destiny 2 as they can utilize certain search tags to find the perfect match. For veteran players, the Fireteam Finder can be useful to find experienced players looking to tackle the toughest raids.

Along with the new search function, players will soon be able to make use of a new Destiny 2 feature known as Fireteam Power. Fireteam Power acts as a temporary level boost if someone in the squad doesn’t make the recommended power level of any nightfall missions, raid, or any other multiplayer mode available in the game. This means that higher-level Guardians are no longer constricted by the lowest-level player and will be able to tackle challenging modes like the classic Croata’s End raid.

More changes to Destiny 2 will be implemented once The Final Shape expansion releases on February 27. Bungie will replace the current season model with longer “Episodes”, which will allow players to explore new stories once the war of Light and Dark is concluded.

With the introduction of the new Fireteam Finder function within Destiny 2, the free-to-play shooter has become more accessible to those who’ve never played before. For newcomers looking to jump into the action, Bungie has released a playable timeline within Destiny 2 that catches players up with the decade-long story so far. Gamers who complete each story will also be rewarded with certain items relating to the missions.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
