Destiny 2's Festival of the Lost has returned for a brief period. Lasting until November the 2nd, players will be able to celebrate the spooky season in-game with a new activity and weapons to acquire.

Destiny's content systems can sometimes be somewhat confusing, especially to players who aren't familiar with the systems and currencies involved. For those new lights, here's a brief rundown of how the event works.

Festival Of The Lost Currencies

Festival Of The Lost sees Haunted Sectors coming to Destiny 2. These are lost sectors that have a more spooky aesthetic and will involve players taking down multiple nightmare bosses. Players will need to unlock Haunted Sectors by completing a short quest from Eva Levante, who can be found in the tower.

Eva Levante will give players a mask, which players can equip in their helmet slot. While equipped, players will gain candy by defeating enemies and completing activities. Candy can be exchanged for grab bags, which will offer players various loot.

Alongside this, completing activities with a mask on will give players Spectral Pages, which can be turned into Manifested Pages by completing Haunted Lost Sectors.

Manifested Pages Usage

Manifested Pages are the main currency used for the Festival of the Lost and are used to complete the Book of the Forgotten, which can be found in the tower.

Unlocking pages in the Book of the Forgotten will grant players higher chances of getting the event weapons when they complete Haunted Sectors; unlocking pages also progress players' event challenges, which can be found in the Quest menu. Players can read up on how to start Haunted Sectors here.

Bounties

As per usual, Eva Levante offers Guardians bounties in exchange for Bright Dust, Experience, Glimmer, and Candy. These bounties come in three different forms:

  • 2 Weekly Bounties
  • 4 Daily Bounties
  • Additional Bounties that can be completed infinitely

Rewards

There are various cosmetic and utility rewards on offer for players who partake in the Festival of the Lost. The event menu contains a large majority of the cosmetic rewards for this event and is locked behind triumphs/ objectives that players will need to fulfill. These are the items that can be gained from the event menu:

  • Various masks of NPCs, enemies, objects, and community references
  • Ships
  • Shaders
  • Emblems

Alongside this, there are four different weapons that players can attain by participating in Festival of the Lost. All weapons drop at the end of Haunted Sectors, weapons drop rate is directly related to how many pages players have completed in the Book of the Forgotten. These weapons are:

  • The Braytech Werewolf (Auto Rifle)
  • Horror Story (Auto Rifle)
  • Jurassic Green (Pulse Rifle)
  • Mechabre (Sniper Rifle)

Players will also receive a well-rolled Mechabre for completing the short questline that introduces the event. It is recommended that players interested in PvP should complete this questline as it's quite short, and the weapon is a worthwhile reward for the small amount of time invested.

Eververse Cosmetics

The other cosmetics on offer during this event can be found in the Eververse store. These are on offer for Silver (paid currency) or Bright Dust (currency gained from play).
