With the impending arrival of The Final Shape, Destiny 2 fans are expecting the curtain to close on the development of Destiny 2 content. However, there are some features that they would like to see before Destiny 2 ends its stream of content development and a wish list that they have to further expand the fun in this FPS shooter.

From quality-of-life improvements to new features altogether, some players have big hopes for Destiny 2 in the closing days of the game. Yet, the third act is still awaiting players, and The Final Shape has yet to be revealed, so it leaves potential for content that could still come.

10 New Gambit Maps

Destiny-2-Gambit

The PvPvE game mode for Destiny 2, Gambit, has seen a lack of content as of late. The game mode could do with some additions, much like how Crucible has multiple variations for its PvP content. Not only could Gambit benefit from an addition of PvE content, but the game mode is in desperate need of some new maps.

Players have ventured through the sol-system, encountering new locations, like Neomuna. It would be great to see some of these locations feature as new maps in Gambit, as the Destiny 2 PvPvE mode only has 4 maps in total.

9 Old Destiny Raids

There’s a lot of restored content in Destiny 2, such as the Vault of Glass and the King’s Fall raids. However, there remains some content that remains sunset, and for Destiny 2 to be the ultimate experience, it would be great to see the return of some iconic raids. There’s Wrath of the Machine, the Fallen SIVA. the raid that demands a comeback.

The Leviathan Raids and Raid Lairs are due for a comeback in Destiny 2. The return of these old features will certainly add new life to the game, as players will have many more activities to do, with new weapons and armor to enjoy, and perhaps with revamped mechanics from old raids like Crota’s End.

8 Sparrow Racing League

Hosted by the amazing Amanda Holliday, the Sparrow Racing League saw six Guardians race each other for the glory and prizes of being the ultimate Sparrow racing expert. Players could hone their racing skills and abilities, and train on their Sparrows to become a champion. The specifically designed SRL maps made for some exciting gameplay, and activities that differ from the usual shooting against enemies.

Sparrow Racing League is deserving of a comeback, perhaps as a celebration of the end of Destiny 2. Players can take a break from shooting each other in The Crucible and fighting dreaded bosses like Nezarec to have a fun racing experience.

7 Larger Player Count Activities

One thing that has been on the minds of Destiny 2 players for years is the idea of a higher player count when it comes to PvE activities. Players enjoy the experience of a 6-player raid, but through glitches and exploits, they have already experienced 12-player raids, and many players long for this to return as a feature.

The idea of tackling challenging encounters with an army of Guardians sounds like a lot of fun. It would make great sense for a 12-person raid to feature in The Final Shape, as it would be quite unusual to see The Witness succumb to 11 Thunderlords and a Divinity bubble.

6 Space Battles

Ever since players knew that each Guardian would have their spaceship to travel to different planets and moons, they have always wanted to take their unique ships into a 3D environment for space battles. It’s very doubtful that Destiny 2 will see the inclusion of space battles, it’s not an easy task to create, but would still be a great thing to see.

Space battles could see players take each other on in combat, or to battle enemies of the Light in space. It’s a great way to add new combat to the game, even if the likelihood is very low for Destiny 2 space combat.

5 Strike Selection

There are countless Strikes in Destiny 2. These Vanguard activities see 3 Guardians take on some interesting missions, with unique challenges facing each Strike differently. It would be great if the release of The Final Shape saw the inclusion of every Strike in Destiny 2, as even some returning Strikes from the first game have featured, with the best Bungie villains returning.

When players load into the Vanguard playlist, they will be faced with a random Strike every time. Considering Destiny 2 has a plethora of Strikes, it would be great if players could go through the varied selection, and choose for themselves which Strike they would like to tackle.

4 Sparrow Horns

A returning feature for Destiny 2 should be the inclusion of Sparrow Horns. These horns made Sparrows a lot more quirky, as players could find a bounty of silly and customizable horns that could make their Sparrow unique, and truly turn the heads of Guardians admiring the beautiful locations.

Sparrow Horns are nothing game-changing, but they are a fun addition that could add more of a collectible variety to Destiny 2. There are plenty of easter eggs and nods that Bungie could develop to make the list of Sparrow Horns seem fun and varied.

3 Emote Wheel

As it stands, players can only ever have 4 emotes on at one time. Players can use the D-pad to activate each of these emotes. However, there lies a problem, as there are countless emotes available to players in Destiny 2 thanks to the Eververse and other fun activities that grant unique emotes for players to express themselves to each other.

A true benefit of Destiny 2 would be an emote wheel. Other games like Fortnite have already integrated an emote wheel, and it allows players to truly express themselves without the need to switch out to different emotes in the loadout screen.

2 Horde Mode

A game like Destiny 2 begs for a Horde Mode. A survival-type game mode would be intensely fun for the community, especially when one considers the joys that players experience from games like Call of Duty Zombies or Halo’s Horde Mode. It would be a great addition to content for Destiny 2.

Players could see a revamped version of Prison of Elders, which features countless waves of enemies with new challenges each wave. Or, players could be able to take on unlimited waves of Hive forces, with occasional boss fights and point-based rewards that allow for better weapons.

1 Individual HUB Ship

Destiny 2 Vault of Glass Ship

There is a notable lack of HUB worlds in Destiny 2. Players have the Tower, but it can get boring running around the same location. It would be great if players could take a break and return to the interior of their ship and treat it like their own unique HUB area.

With the release of Beyond Light, players were able to earn trophies from Triumphs that could be physically placed in their bunker on Europa. However, it would be great to see something like this for the player’s ship, especially with the challenging content in Raids that could see the players take a trophy home with them to show their accomplishments.

Destiny 2 is currently available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
