Love for the Fallout series has spread into the Last City, as a Destiny 2 player has expertly recreated the look of an iconic Fallout: New Vegas armor set in the game. As with other Destiny 2 "cosplay" looks, the recreation employs the game's armor customization system, turning parts for a Titan Guardian into an NCR Ranger.

Despite having no notable new releases in years, the Fallout series has seen a massive resurgence in popularity over the last few months. Players have been revisiting games in the series, while the online spin-off Fallout 76 broke player participation records five times in six days. 21 Beginner Tips for Fallout 76

Fallout 76 is significantly different from other games in the series, so players will need to take advantage of these tips to succeed in the game.

The attention even extends to games that are theoretically competitors to Fallout, like Destiny 2, where player whythelongface133 shared a customized Titan armor set designed to emulate the look of a ranger from the Fallout New California Republic faction. Shared on the DestinyFashion Reddit community, whythelongface133 used a number of Titan armor ornaments to come up with a look closely resembling the NCR Ranger uniform, which appears on the cover art for Fallout: New Vegas.

Destiny 2 Player Cosplays In-Game as Fallout: New Vegas NCR Ranger

An elite group of NCR soldiers, the Rangers wear a signature suit of combat armor that incorporates a heavy leather duster and a telltale full-face gas mask and combat helmet. The look is so distinctive that players have imported the NCR Ranger's aesthetic into games like Starfield and beyond.

For their attempt, whythelongface133 centered the look around the iconic gas mask helmet, using the Eidolon Pursuant Helm from Season of the Witch paired with the Erebos Glance shader to color its visor red. The Viperidax Gauntlets from Gambit, Veritas Plate from the Witch Queen expansion, and Crucible Clutch Extol Greaves and Wing Discipline Class Item round out the ensemble. When colored using the Gamekeeper shader, the result resembles a long brown coat worn over an armored breastplate, boots, and well-worn denim pants, in keeping with New Vegas' western motif.

Players praised whythelongface133's work, commenting with pledges of allegiance to the NCR and jokes referencing Fallout: New Vegas. Others suggested that Bethesda join hands with Bungie to produce a Fallout-themed Destiny 2 crossover and add some official Fallout-themed exotics, such as armor ornaments that evoke iconic Fallout Power Armor suits.
