Fans of Destiny 2 might be happy to hear that the Guardian Games are back again this year, this time with all new surprises in store. Now, gamers can accept new specialty quests in Destiny 2 as a way to compete with others online.

The reward for completing these quests are either Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum medals that go towards the overall total for the players selected class. Bronze medals are worth 1 point, Silver medals are worth 2 points, Gold medals are worth 5 points, and Platinum medals are worth 15 points. The purpose behind this is to gather the most points for the team, with different daily and weekly deadlines.

The Guardian Games event runs from April 20 to May 10, so fans have nearly a month to compete. So for Destiny 2 fans who want to help their team win the best rewards, here is how they can earn some Guardian Medals.

The first way to earn medals is called Triumphs in Destiny 2, which are gameplay objectives tracked by the game and redeemed for rewards. These quests can be accessed by clicking the Triumphs tab, picking the Season of the Chosen option, selecting events, and ending on the Guardian Games option. The Triumphs can also be marked to make things easier for gamers to stay organized. Players can earn each type of medal depending on the difficulty mode, but these will eventually run out.

The second best way to get medals is through the Contender Cards, which is a new specific quest type made for the Guardian Games event this year. Before players can complete these, though, they will need to collect some Laurels in Destiny 2. Laurels are rewards that can be found from landing ability kills or defeating tough enemies in Strikes, Gambit, and the Crucible. Doing activities with other class members, completing the Games Strike playlist, and competing in the Daily Focus playlist are additional ways to earn extra Laurels.

Once gamers have collected at least 100 Laurels, they should return to Eva Levante in the Tower to earn a Contender Card, which goes towards Strikes, Gambit, or Crucible. If players want to save up a bit more, they can trade 200 Laurels for a Platinum Card which goes towards Nightfalls and Trial of Osiris. Once the different objectives on these cards are completed, fans should automatically get a medal deposited into their case. From there, players have to deposit their medals at the podium in the tower in the designated location for their class to turn in the points.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
