Bungie has confirmed that the Dragon’s Breath Exotic rocket launcher is returning to Destiny 2 with some enhancements in Season 23. This will be available as a part of the Seasonal rewards track in the upcoming Destiny 2 Season of the Wish, and will also have a catalyst for players to upgrade the weapon further.

The ongoing Destiny 2 Season of the Witch saw the return of the Savathun for a short while, so Eris Morn and the Vanguard can find a way to follow the Witness. However, her return was short-lived as Eris slayed the Witch Queen upon her resurrection to gain her powers temporarily, and severed Xivu Arath’s connection to her Throne World. Following these events, Savathun was resurrected once more, and won her freedom by keeping her Ghost Immaru, in the Vanguard’s custody. Additionally, she also showed the Guardians how they could follow the Witness by leading them to an Ahamkara egg, which in turn revealed the upcoming Destiny 2 Season of the Wish via an in-game cutscene. Now, Bungie has revealed new details about the upcoming season, including a returning D1 Exotic.

Dragon's Breath Exotic Rocket Launcher Returns With Destiny 2 Season of the Wish

In the latest This Week in Destiny blog, Bungie revealed that the Dragon’s Breath Exotic rocket launcher is returning in Season 23 as a part of the Seasonal track rewards. This will be the third Solar Exotic rocket launcher in Destiny 2 after Eyes of Tomorrow and Gjallarhorn, and will be introduced with new Exotic perks. The new intrinsic perk is called Burn the World, which will add fuel to the weapon projectiles the longer it goes without being fired. Once fired, the target will take Scorch damage in addition to the initial explosion. Based on the amount of fuel the projectile had, it will also drop pools of fire around the target, damaging anyone in it. Its second intrinsic perk, High Octane, will refill the fuel in the rockets based on nearby Solar Ignitions. Dragon's Breath will also receive a third perk called Pyromancer via its catalyst, which will create Firesprites upon defeating targets.

Apart from this, Season 23 will also improve rewards obtained from Legend and Master Lost Sectors, which will now have a chance of dropping Foundry weapons. Additionally, players will also be able to focus Foundry weapons in Destiny 2 Season 23, and will also receive additional Ritual engrams from playlist activities such as Nightfall and Crucible.

Destiny 2 Season 23 will also start phasing out Legendary Shards, with the objective of fully removing them when the Final Shape DLC launches. Along with this, Season 23 will also let players access their vault from Orbit, reducing players’ dependency on third-party companion apps.
